Has anyone ever spent Easter at Disney? Do they do anything special like at Halloween the mnsshp? Please let me know anything you can also will have autistic nephew any ideas?????

We where at Disney Easter 2004. We stayed at ASMu. The value resorts do not do anything. The other ones (some of them) do. Like egg hunts so on. There was a mini Easter parade just before Share a dream come true parade. To be honest it didn't feel like Easter at all. Don't get me wrong we had a fabulous day, but it didn't feel like Easter.

Sure looked strange watching DD going through her basket as it sat on a suitcase. :rotfl2: I would still recommend going though. Any time at Disney no doubt will be a great time. :thumbsup2

we were there this april until good friday. we saw mr and mrs bunny for pictures. they also had egg hunts planned at most hotels, as well as special meals available for the day. good luck!

Ok, how horrible are the crowds? We always go winter/off season but if we can not get my DS's health issues under control a school time trip is not an option. We are looking at Easter. How are crowds and temps. We are so spoiled by Jan.

Thanks,

Jordan's mom

Our family has gone over the easter break both in 2004 and just this past easter 2006. The weather was perfectly warm, nice evenings sometimes a bit windy, the crowds are manageable. We woke up EARLY to tour the parks, and found that worked best. Plan well and take your time..

We have gone a few times in April over Easter Break or Spring break! The weather is usually gorgeous! We are actually going over easter do to the fact that my niece has crohn's disease and misses quite sometime in school! Because of this and she goes to catholic school and they are off the Thursday and friday before Easter and the Monday and Tueasday after Easter so we will only be there 2 days during actual spring break since easter is early this year! It's April 8th, 2007! But spring break has never really been enormously busy when we have been there! We went in October this past year! for Halloween that was awesome! I would have loved to go then but it just wasn't an option!! Weather was great a lil chilly here and there! I can't wait to go back!!! I think we may stay at Old Key West not really sure yet! We may be using parents DVC like we did previously and we stayed at Saratoga Springs and Beach Club Villas! They were great! If not I think we may try out the new Family Suites at ASMU!!

Can you give me an idea of what hotels had easter egg hunts? I heard the value resorts didn't! Also where were the pics held with the easter bunny?

We stayed at Pop, which did not have a hunt, but guests were invited to take a bus to CBR to participate in their hunt. The easter bunny, along with Mrs. Bunny were in a little parade down MS then available for pictures throughout the day right by town hall (i think it is what it is called) in MK.
As for the weather, we loved it! It was low 80's with just 1 quick shower all week long! We prefered a light jacket at night on some evenings. It was a bit breezy some days too, so the pool wasn't as comfy as I wished. The water was great, but getting in and out was cold. The week after we left was up to the 90's, so I guess it is hard to totally predict. I think the avg. is low 80's.

The Easter idea is sounding better and better. We are going to wait a little bit to see if we can get the medical issues under control if not spring break might just be the answer. I assume we will pay rack rates. Correct? We had planned to do the contemporary this trip but might have to reconsider.

You should be able to get a AAA rate if you book as soon as they are released.

I was able to book with a general code during our Easter 2004 trip. I don't think that will happen next year.

I plan to book the dining plan with AAA as soon as they release the AAA rates.

We went to WDW over Easter 2005 and are already booked for Easter 2007. We were at the BWV (we're DVC members). They do a great candy scramble. I mean it was an inch thick over the green. We're early risers and walked over to BCV that morning and they were doing the same event there. BWV also had cookie decorating from their bakery and Mr & Mrs Easter Bunny were there for pics. We had a great time and definitely felt like we got our "egg hunt" fix for that day. Talked to folks who had traveled over to the Contemporary where they have a big egg hunt (they also have Easter services that morning at the Contemporary). Weather was perfect while we were there. Crowds were heavy . . . we did parks in the a.m., pool in the afternoon and back into the park in the evening to just wander and ride what we could. It was a great trip!
