Easter Air Prices

I have not taken a trip to Disney during Easter week in quite some time. I know air prices are high now ($400-$500) on SWA and AirTran. Can I expect them to come down a little? Can you please post your prices if you went last year? Any help is appreciated.

From Philadelphia for Easter this year I got just under $200 r/t on SWA, slightly higher than last year.

Airtran - Philly to MCO direct flight $210 each rt (including all taxes/fees). We flew the Thursday before Easter (4/5) and returned the Thursday (4/12)after.

We decided to go in December and the plan was to drive, unless we found arifare for $200 or less (we came close). We booked the flights in February.

If you're looking to go out of chicago or mke I wouldn't expect them to come down much - usually chicago and mke are on different breaks but this year easter is earlier so the flights are pretty slim - we booked a month ago and got 350 rt out of mke - our friends decided to come a week ago and they got 350 our of midway due to the fact that southwest just released seats.

Now if you go off days you can probably do better - otherwise I wouldn't expect them to come down!

I would focus on the things that you can do to bring the prices down. I live so close to Akron/Canton Airport, and flights are $600 a person!

Looking around I found that Pittsburgh, less than 2 hr drive away, was about 60% less

(I intended to fly out on Good Friday, but going Thursday evening saved a bunch.)

I also considered flying into Tampa.

With AirTran (and I assume most airlines) you can actually see how filled the airplane is on their website. Looking at that, I could not see any incentive that AirTran would have to lower their rates because the flights were 75% full as it was.

I am surely no expert, but have been watching for fares for months.
