Chief Meteorologist Elliot Abrams is forecasting Washington D.C., Philadelphia and New York City will be right along the rain/snow line. While a sloppy mix of precipitation causes headaches for people in the cities, snow will fall in suburban areas, and is forecast to be heavy in many locations along a line to the north and east of I-95.

The deepening cold across the country will spur the development of an active storm track. AccuWeather.com is forecasting another big weather event will hit the East next weekend, capping a week of wild weather that will rival what was witnessed during the heart of the past hurricane season.

When is this supposed to happen?

At first I hear on Sunday, but then this morning while driving to work they were predicting it for the morning rush hour (in DC) on Monday. YUCK. I made up my mind last year that I will no longer commute in the sloppy messes. Last year, I left work at lunchtime when we had a "small" snowstorm and I didn't get home until 7:00 p.m.

Here in RI/SE MA/SW MA the weather people said to expect 2 storms - a minor "wintry mix" this weekend and a much worse one Monday night into Tuesday morning.

Uggh. The dreaded winter mix. I'd rather lots of snow than that.

yup - they say Monday here should be interesting!

I've been trying to ignore the weather reports but it probably won't work! I hate winter! :cold:

I heard snow this morning too . . . .they couldn't put any accumlation they say they are "watching" it  Just like the storm that they predicted < to 1 inch on Thanksgiving and we had just about 5 inches . . . :earseek: So I'm hopin the weather people say big snow storm coming and we'll probably end up with a dusting . . . :rotfl:

According to local reports for Philly and surrounding areas it is a minor storm Sunday (coating of snow but possibly rain/ice mix) and a bigger storm Monday morning of 2" or so.

We were supposed to be going up to see family in suburban Philly this weekend, but went a few weeks ago instead! Thank goodness!

I know why this is happening.

As a kid I always wished for snow on my birthday. Rarely happened, even in Oregon where we got snow every winter. So somehow some weather god thinks that my birthday wish is still snow. My birthday is Sunday, hence the Sunday night weather event. Problem is, now that I have children, a snow day doesn't hold the same appeal. :teeth:

So, maybe if I skip my birthday this year we won't have snow, the kids will have school on Monday, and I won't get older!!! Sounds good to me. :rotfl:

YAY!!!!!!!

it was snowing while i was in science today....the kid next to me saw it...and fell into me...i almost dumped acid on me (not the first time for accidents in that class...my hair almost caught on fire thanks to my lab partner moving the fire under my pony tail!!!)
