We had a fairly long lie in today then went for lunch at the Pepper Market at midday. My chicken quesadilla was OK but Steve’s pizza was dire (no sauce, an undercooked base and so greasy… Yuck!) Can’t say we were impressed with the PM and we definitely preferred the food court at Port Orleans French Quarter. First port of call today was Winter Summerland Mini Golf, since we had a discount voucher we figured we might as well! We both got below par though not by much and at $12 for two of us it wasn’t bad value considering you get a golf ball, mini Sharpie and candy cane each to take home. Next stop was MK to catch the 3pm parade (OK but I prefer the old one!)

Afterwards we explored Tom Sawyer Island (never done this before), got FPs for Big Thunder Mountain then left, catching the boat back to the TTC which was packed because the monorails were off for some reason.

We practically ran over to the Polynesian and just made our 5pm Ohana ADR, the queue to check in was insane and I was paranoid it’d be cancelled while we were waiting! We were soon seated and Steve was told which of the usual dishes he could eat and also given a vegetarian dish of tofu and rice which he enjoyed. I kind of overdosed on the wontons and could only manage shrimp from the skewers before I full to bursting, though not so much that I couldn’t have dessert! All I can say is wow, best dessert ever… If I could have taken the leftovers I would have. After our yummy dinner we walked back to the car to change into our MNSSHP costumes (Charlie Brown and Lucy Van Pelt) then got the boat back over to MK (still no monorails running) I have to say: When you really really need the loo that boat doesn’t half go slowly! Anyway... After a swift restroom diversion upon docking we were through the turnstiles, wristbanded up and on our way to Tomorrowland.

Buzz Lightyear and the Monsters Inc Laughter Floor were first on the agenda then round to the Haunted Mansion and Big Thunder Mountain (didn’t need the FPs we picked up earlier, typical!)

By now it was time to nab a fireworks spot (Tomorrowland walkway) and then a spot for the 10:30 parade (Liberty Square stocks) Fireworks and parade were both excellent, I liked the new additions since 2007.

After the parade it was straight to the front of the castle for the Villains Mix n Mingle (awesome!), some trick or treating and a final ride on Pirates (I think it was one of the last rides of the day) before leaving at midnight, I think we were among the last ‘stragglers’ getting our money’s worth!

The monorail was now running again so we got it back to the car park and drove back to CSR. I think driving so late made me lose my sense of direction a bit as we missed a turn and ended up off Disney property with (typically) no sat nav… Luckily I spotted Sherberth Road and remembered reading about a shortcut people took along there so, despite protest from Steve, I drove along hoping for the best and we were soon back on property and spotted signs for CSR so crisis was averted! Just as a side note: I know Disney don’t allow masks at MNSSHP but we saw a fair few, including full ‘fur’ costumes with heads and nothing was said, not sure if they’re more lax with this policy now? Also I have to mention how high the standard of costumes was at MNSSHP that night, some of the particularly memorable ones we saw were: a whole family dressed as The Incredibles, the hitchhiking ghosts, a hotdog and banana, a Carlotta which knocked spots off Disney’s official one, a group of women as the Village People, a group dressed as all the Wizard of Oz characters, some very intricate pirates, Jason Lee’s character from The Incredibles and my favourite: The girl with the parasol who stands on a tightrope in the Haunted Mansion tapestries!

We enjoy the mini golf too. Just wondered what a sharpie is? Last year we did Winterland & the year before we did the one at the Swan & Dolphin, we were given golf balls, pens & lollipops at the S&D one but nothing at the Blizzzard Beach one, must have forgotten we still enjoyed it though. Thanks again for taking the time to share.

yeah ..i demand a photo of you guys in costume !!!!

love the photos once again a skiled person behind that lens:worship:

glad you enjoyed MNSSHP, we loved it and would gladly go again - sometimes your fellow guests are the real treat!
