We were both pretty tired from MK EMH and so were up a bit late. Managed to get to Epcot (driving this time) for 10 and first things first: Soarin FPs!

Almost to the entrance!

After acquiring these we had some breakfast at Sunshine Seasons (chocolate croissant each plus a shared orange juice) as we hadn’t managed to get to Publix for room snacks yet. Next stop was Living With the Land and then the Living Seas for the Finding Nemo ride and Turtle Talk With Crush.

Boo!

We’d never done Turtle Talk before and really enjoyed it. By now it was lunch time (I know it seems like we’ve only just had breakfast but it was a decent amount of time later!) so we returned to Sunshine Seasons where I had a turkey sandwich and strawberry shortcake and Steve had the tofu noodle bowl and a butterfinger cake.

After lunch it was time to use our Soarin FPs so we headed there, great ride as always but it does make me miss California! Our final ride in Epcot that day was Spaceship Earth, where we both approved of the new additions, then back to CSR for a couple of hours chill time then grocery shopping at Publix for some room snacks/breakfast food.

We spotted Chip and Dale on the way out so I had to get a photo, love these guys!

Steve would like everyone to know he was not responsible for this photo! Pretty much sums up why we'll never pay for Photopass though *dodges flames*

Dinner tonight was at the Flying Fish Café at 5:50 so we drove over to the Boardwalk and ended up parking over the road which was fine but I think I’d be a bit miffed if I was staying there at the resort and had to park all that way away! We checked in at the restaurant and we both had high hopes as this place gets excellent reviews and of course it’s two table service credits on the dining plan. However, the first alarm bell was the server pretty much dismissing Steve being vegetarian, like it was something of an annoyance! He ordered the side of mushrooms for a starter and I ordered the crabcakes. We both enjoyed our choices, though Steve said the mushrooms were a tad salty. For mains I already knew beforehand what I was choosing: The famous potato wrapped red snapper! Steve ordered the vegetarian pasta but was presented with the shrimp version. The server’s response was an “oh OK” and from that point she blatantly avoided our table other than to bring Steve the right pasta dish, at which point I’d nearly finished my main. The pasta ended up being so salty that Steve had four cokes with it (the server obviously had a change of heart at that point and was overly attentive!) For dessert we both ordered the study in chocolate which was really nice, loved the crème brulee especially. We paid cash for our starters and I left a tip, less than I usually would, though I later found out Steve took the tip back! I guess we could have complained but I’m not sure what they could have done for us, or even what we would have wanted to be done. I wouldn’t say the food was completely awful but it wasn’t signature restaurant standard in our opinion and if we’d been paying for the meal out of pocket we’d have felt a bit swindled. Also, the feel of the place in general just felt too casual and, dare I say, unprofessional to justify the signature classification/price tag compared to the like of the Yachtsman Steakhouse and California Grill. After dinner we headed back to CSR for an early night.

Glad to see you updating Lizzy! :thumbsup2

Nice, relaxed day. Shame about Flying Fish. I've just got back from New York and they couldn't do enough for me as a vegetarian, so it's disappointing to hear about your experience.

Such a shame about the meal. It can so make or break your evening by how the server treats you.

Great day, shame about your meal though, I have never tried the Flying Fish:goodvibes
