Any helpful hints on back roads or shortcuts to bypass the for sure to be wall to wall traffic? Hate to waste even a minute. Thanks!

The easiest way from the Downtown Disney area is....

Make a left on ApopkaVineland Road across from The Crossroads and then a right on Palm Parkway. That will turn into Turkey Lake Road and follow until you get to Universal. You don't have to go on I-4 at all.

:thumbsup2 i go this way all the time, as hate getting stuck on I4 if there is an accident

We'll be taking that trip on the morning of June 4th. Do you think that's the best way to go taking into consideration the possible craziness of the WWoHP? Appreciate all the help!

It will certainly be better than I-4! This is not a route that most of the tourists who come here take...they stick with I-4 so go the back way. Your main concern is should be the time of day you're heading over and if it's a weekday or not. You'll get lots of local traffic during rush hour.

To add to that, watch your speed on them roades.OPD and Troopers love to give out souvies in the form of tickets!!

Good advice donaldduck352:). We will be heading out after breakfast at Boma (9 am ressies). Prob around 11 am. Thanks again for all the help!
:thumbsup2

I'd avoid palm parkway altogether. You can take Apopka Vineland all the way up to Wallace, and take a right, then a left when it dead ends into Turkey Lake. You'll run into the back entrance of UO. And you don't have to deal with the craziness which is the Turkey Lake/Sand Lake rd. interchange.

And watch the light at Sand Lake and Turkey Lake.If I am not mistaken it has a redllight camera on it,and if you get too far over the line,on a red, youll have a ticket waiting on you when you get home.
