Easiest Snacks To Carry??

My kids' favorite is cut-up oranges.... we also take beef jerky or beef sticks, trail mix, cashews/peanuts, pbutter crackers, mini-wheats or cheerios.... Mine won't eat frozen grapes (maybe I do something wrong, but they get all mushy after thawing).....

You can also split a double cheeseburger by cutting it in half, and forgetting about an extra bun.

I do this a lot! My daugther is a light eater. Her favorite phrases are "Can I Be Done?" and "I'm full!". So, we just share a double cheesburger. It's better than throwing half her food away!

I have to be honest, I Love "Disney", but I don't like the recent price gouging by "management". I love the concept of Disney, the magic behind it, the movies and all the wholesome-ness and good messages in the movies and how all ages can enjoy the parks together! However, I am getting so peeved at management and all these price increases on food, strollers, and their never ending reaching into my pocket deeper and deeper.

So, this time, I'm going to be "frugal", not cheap, but frugal. I'm going to be penny wise and dollar happy! I really don't see anything wrong with that. Maybe if Disney sees a big pull back/push back from its "guests" they will lighten up and find another way to keep the shareholders happy.

I really appreciate all the ideas you folks have thrown out here for me. THANKS! :flower3:

These snack threads are so great. I did not realize that you could bring snacks to the park. We are going next month and were planning on sneaking them in. LOL. Now we don't have to. :)

We are bringing snack pack pringles, a variety pack of individual snacks which include chips ahoy, ritiz bits, mini oreos, teddy grahams, and nutter butters. I've never heard this one mentioned and it is my granddaughters favorite snack so we are bringing a big bag of croutons. They come in different flavors. Really all the kids like them. Jerky will be good for us too, I hadn't thought of that one. We also like to make our own cereal mix by adding several kinds of cereal to a bag of peanuts and m & m's.

I saw at Aldi snack packs of roasted almonds, and and single serve 100% fruit twists snacks - plan on bringing on my next trip- they also had the cheezit style snack packs...

What we do is actually get there a couple hrs. After the park has opened, and stop by a fast food place to eat a sandwich or hamburger. By the time we get through parking and walking in we have just finished eating and are good to go for most of the day.

I do however bring snacks for my mom who is hypoglycemic and when she needs to eat something..she needs it now! ;) what I pack for her are:
- individual fruit snacks
-peanut butter granola bars and crackers ( peanut butter is the best as it keeps her sugar a little more stable)
- beef jerky ( great as it offers protein, has a nice chew to it, and it does well in all weather)
-pop tarts ( can get crumbly thought)
- Almonds/pistachios/cashews in ziplock bags
- pretzel twists or pretzel nuggets with peanut butter in them

Hope this helps! :goodvibes

A lot of the things we take have been mentioned--nuts, fruit, jerky, carrots.

I really like the pouches of Justin's peanut or almond butter and the Artisana Coconut Butter.

One if my best tips is to pack in empty hard sided containers--gladware, empty puffs (the baby snack, not the tissue) containers, ball plastic freezer containers. I hate crushed goldfish and Cheerios.

Back when we did Disney on a Dime type trips, we didn't even eat meals in the parks. In addition to the other things previous posters have mentioned, we got those tuna-salad-in-a-can-and-cracker type heat stable foods and took those into the park for lunch (then we'd do fast food for dinner since we were staying off-site). They're surprisingly decent and the protein is nice to tide you over.

For our plane rides and such, my favorite heat stable food is still spam musubis (salted rice + spam + nori wrap). Google it. It may not be for everybody, you have to like spam which seems to mainly be people from certain regions, but packs and travels really well. Hard to make right before you go into the parks, but I often make several for each person before we go on the trip, and we have one or two on the plane, then one or two the first day in the parks.

An idea for containers to keep snacks from getting crushed is using old Crystal Light containers. They are cylinder like shape and seem to fit well in back packs. I also use an insulated back pack and plastic ice cubes that are in a sheet like bubble wrap so they don't melt into a watery pool and I can reuse over and over. Also, the rectangular shaped plastic ware is great to hold sandwiches without adding much bulk to your back pack.
