Earwig bugs....so annoying!

Remember the Rod Serling show; "Night Gallery". an earwig was implanted into a man's ear. He survived what most never survive. After horrific days it made it's way out through his other ear. Then we learned that it was a female and laid eggs. :scared1::scared1::scared1: That is what I think of when I think of earwigs.

Dawn, did you have to remind me of that? I remember having nightmares after seeing that...was afraid an earwig would crawl into my ear as I was sleeping.

Oh it's been a bad year for us too! Up the walls, across the floors, in the bathroom. Don't forget to check the toilet seat before you sit. We call them Pincher bugs.

I'm in Southern Wisconsin and those hideous little things are around every year. Luckily, my dad is pretty great and he does a lot for us kids. I called him up and he sprays Tempo bug spray around the outside of the house. I think he may spray inside in damper areas where the bugs like to hide...laundry room, bathroom and whatnot. It's pet safe as well, I believe he gets it at Mounds Petfood Warehouse and it gets rid of spiders, earwigs, centipedes (THOSE are nasty), ants, the evil non-ladybugs...and whatever other bugs there are. http://www.petco.com/product/109605...-8381-DE11-B7F3-0019B9C043EB&mr:referralID=NA

They are bad by us too, I had Terminex come out and spry...there are waaaayyyy less, but I still killed one yesterday night in the bathroom - YUCK

I've never seen them before so I guess we don't have them down here.

But the crickets are here!

We had them too when we moved into this home. it is on a slab and had a lot of decaying wood and trees, shrubs lying around. It took a couple years till it was cleared out and they went away but once in a while we will find one in the bathroom. I think they come in along the pipes or drains.

LOL
I had to read this thread because I just checked out an Earwig children's book from the local library for DD6.
Needless to say(?) it was not the first book she went for. :lmao: (Me either, but I just picked a random variety of topics off the shelf.)

It turns out they are quite interesting insects!
But I still plan to squish them if I find them in my house. ;)

Did you know they come in GIANT size?

Hahaha, I'm glad to find I'm not alone. The minute I saw the thread title I thought about that Rod Serling episode. I thought it was a Twilight Zone one, though. I still get creeped out by that one everytime a bug flies anywhere near my ear! :lmao: I never knew earwigs were for real. I thought Serling made them up.

Sweet baby Jesus!! we have them here (i'm in PA) but if I ever run into that large one we are soooo moving!!!!!!! They are so flipping creepy :scared1:
