Earwig bugs....so annoying!

Good luck. We have a bumper crop of those things this year too and we have tried almost everything and they just keep showing up....I am subscribing to this thread to find out the answer too.

I have no idea, I just scream and run the other way as fast as possible.

HATE HATE HATE earwigs!

I have never had such a problem with pesty little creators like these things :headache:. They are everywhere! I'm hoping for suggestions thats safe for pets, etc (so far, I've heard Boric acid :confused3), but, really thinking about calling a professional (thats how bad I hate them).

we have a ton too. everything i have read make it sound pretty hard to get rid of them...hard as in remove all flower beds within a few feet from side of house and replace with rock or concrete. most that I have found say to let be outside and just control what comes in, run to home store and buy earwig killer.

What are they?

what geographic area are these guys prominent? I live in SoFla, where it seems we have EVERY bug and creep crawly creature, and I cannot say I have seem these. At the very least, I have not had a problem with them.

I opened this thread because I thought "Earwig Bug" might be similar to an "Earworm." You know, when you hear a song and then can't get it out of your mind?:lmao:

Wow. Funny to see this thread. I was complaining to my DH that this is a bad year for them. We're in RI. They seem to have let up a bit lately tho. For a couple of weeks, I'd find them almost daily on my bath towel. And DH said he had a new morning routine, including shaking the shower curtain because there'd always be one.

I never thought of trying to get rid of them, meaning more than just stepping on them one at a time. I always thought they're just a seasonal thing and when summer's over, they'll be gone too.

We have them ALL over here. They have taken up residence in my mailbox.

As much as I hate bugs....these don't bother me. I find them in my bed, on the walls, all over everything. Just shake and stomp.

WV here and we have them as well. We have run the whole gamut of bugs this year. Stinkbugs, ladybugs, earwigs, ants and those ugly orange and black bugs that seem to come in clusters. I can't wait until fall!

WHAT? I am in MN too and have never seen these, ever. Great, now I am going to be sleeping with one eye open looking for these little suckers.

This made me LOL! I haven't seen an earwig in years (lived in the east for 15 years, no earwigs there....back in CA for 4 years, but have been very very lucky).

The one I get in my house sometimes now that really bothers me is what I call a mustache bug (probably a centipede) but they are a pale blond color...ick!

OP, sorry I can't offer any advice....except to say "at least it's not potato bugs!!!" :rolleyes1
