We just got back home today. The earthquake hit on our 2nd day.
DH and I were in the bank on Main St. upgrading our 3 day park hoppers to APs. Our teen boys were outside waiting for us.
At first the ground vibrated as if someone was stomping. I looked around but didn't see anyone doing that. Then the floor starting rolling and stopped and then rolled again. I looked for a doorway but didn't notice the one on the side right away. DH told found it and said to leave.
I got part way out and then remembered we left our park hoppers on the counter. So I went back in, grabbed the tickets, and went back out. Priorities, you know.
We found our boys outside saying it didn't feel as strong as in the building.
After a few minutes, the guy called us back in and we finished up our passes.
All the rides were closed so we decided to get lunch (along with the thousands of others). Waiting 40 min. in line at Bengal. A few smaller rides opened up soon after that. Some big rides never did open up or it was very late. We went to Downtown Disney and did some shopping.
Indiana Jones and Rapids never did open up I don't think. The rides that did open up were VERY long and Fast Pass lines were long because everyone had their FPs from earlier.
It wasn't as big as the 89 quake but when it kept going, I started to get more concerned. It shook me up for a few minutes, but we made the best of it.
From then on, we had an earthquake plan. If the boys split up from us, we were to meet at a certain spot if another earthquake happened.
