Like in their 60's and 70's.
No poll, just seeing Morgan Freeman on the Today Show and thought I'd ask.
Comments?
A turnoff?
Cool?
Case by case basis?

At my age, I'm not likely to be turned on by someone Morgan Freeman's age whether he has an earring or not.

I have no opinion, basically. If he likes it, he should wear it. My best guess is that when I am the age to be interesed in someone his age, the earring isn't going to bother me.

I'm not a fan of jewelry on men in general, but to each his own. I think it's worse when you see a male toddler with a necklace or earring.

It depends on the earring. If it's one of those things that stretch the hole :crazy2:. A see this a lot in teens/twenty-somethings. But, if its a tasteful stud earring, I'm okay with it.

The beauty of getting old is you can do whatever you want and not give a crap whether or not somebody is "turned on" by it. ;)

And creepy????? really??????? :confused3

Men wearing gold earrings is an ages old seamen custom.
The people working on ships wore them, that if they would drown and were found,it would pay for a decent funeral and not to bury them outside the grave yard and whiteout a coffin.

Old habits die hard and that is why men started wearing earrings.

I like it when people are wearing whatever makes them happy (as long as they are wearing something!). ;)

Interesting thread.

So it's great when women can do whatever men do (work/earning, clothing, tattoos...) but creepy when men turn the tables? Nope, it's fine.

Pragmatically, if your husband or boyfriend wears earrings, you just doubled your earring wardrobe at no cost.

My husband is 51 y/o and wears an earring. It was gotten when he was in his 30s and I love it! We both got tattoos for the first time 4 years ago and I got a second last year. I love those too. :)

I'm not a fan of earrings on men at any age. I think they look silly except possibly on seamen and pirates.

I'm not a big fan of earrings on men in general. I think that rock stars and some actors (like Johnny Depp) can carry it off. But otherwise? Does nothing for me.

But I loathe big gauges on anyone. There was a cashier at a local store who had such huge gauges, I could easily put my thumb through the hole. I'm a really easy-going person about fashion and personal adornment, definitely a "whatever floats your boat" gal, but seeing that actually made me nauseous. I thought I'd get used to it, but after seeing him about 10 times, I finally had to stop going to that store during what were his regular hours. I felt really bad about it, but I can't help what my stomach does.

Presupposing the person who found them didn't just steal the earring. I'd think that was far more common than using it pay for a stranger's funeral. Especially in a subsistence economy, which has been most of the world through most of human history.
