Thanks to this wonderful board, I have fd starting on sept 2. However we will be staying at a value resort for 2 nights before we check in at POR. Can I some how get my park tickets sooner as our tickets are on our package with the fd? We want to start going to the parks the day we arrive. Thanks so much for any input!

We are doing the same thing and I believe you can pick up your tickets at guest relations up to three days before.

Yes, you can pick up your package tickets up to three days early. You can not get them at your resort, you will need to pick them up at Guest Relations at Downtown Disney or one of the Themeparks. There is a Tickets Sticky at the top of the the Themeparks board that was written by a current Disney CM and it can give you more detailed instructions.

I'm not sure if anything has changed since December, but we checked in for a 2 day room only reservation before our 7 day free dining reservation. When we arrived, we asked for our tickets in advance of our FD reservation and, though it took a little time and effort and a couple of CMs to help figure it out, we got them right at check in (POR). Good luck!

Thats great because they usually won't do it at the resort. Good to know though :-)

I am also interested in doing this in August, and have been told by Small World Vacations that it is impossible. I referred them to the ticket sticky, and they called WDW to confirm. They were told emphatically that we would NOT be allowed to do this.

Who do I believe?

We just picked our tickets up early in November. We had a FD package. Unless you have some special kind of promotional tickets, you should be able to pick them up as early as 3 days before your package. You need to do it at Guest Relations. Very few people have had success getting them at the resort.

ETA-the CMs in the call centers do not always have the correct information. I verified right before our trip with the online help CMs on the Disney site. They confirmed we would be able to pick our tickets up early. The online CMs seem more knowledgeable than the call center.

If u can pick up ur park tickets early can u go to the park without checking in? I spoke to a Disney rep today. And she said u can't pick the up early because its a package. I am checking in at pop on aug 25 but will already be in the area so i would like to goto a park before my check in date...thank u

You should believe the people who have actually done it here on the Dis and the current Disney CM who wrote and keeps that ticket sticky up to date.

Phone CMs are not trained in this policy or procedure. It is solely up to the discretion of the Guest Services Managers at Downtown Disney and at the theme parks, and it is currently their policy, as it had been for quite a few years, to allow guests to pick up their package tickets up to 3 days early.

Thanks for everyone's replies. I am a frequent visitor to WDW, but have never done anything like this (early pickup). I always plan and book the trips myself, but decided to give Small World Vacations a try to alleviate some of the stress. I thought putting it in the hands of an expert would make things easier.

I'm going to trust all you good people and make the reservation. Thank you for the reassurances.

I will be sure to update everyone on my success!

Does anyone have experience doing this with tickets from Magical Vacations Travel?

The tickets are discounted and can't be upgraded...I don't know whether this means they are "special/promotional" or whether they are just discounted because the travel agency sells them that way.

I trust Cheshire and I trust the experience of many Disers...but you must admit it would be an awful "oops" if it happened.
