We've never been to DL in September. I'm wondering what it's like during the first couple weeks... after the summer parades and fireworks are gone, but before Halloweentime begins. We're deciding if we want to go then or the very last weekend in August. Any thoughts, tips, experiences, advice? TIA! :goodvibes

It's very slow in the park once Labor Day crowds leave. But hours are short, F! and fireworks are only on the weekend. HM and Space go down for holiday overlays. It is also the beginning of rehabs since summer is over.

On September 16th Halloween Season starts. DL is decorated, HM and SM open back up.

I abslutely loved my trip the week following labor day. Crowds were low, weather was warm, and the only negative was HM being closed to get ready for HMH. Space Mountain will also close for the holiday overlay as well but it doesn't last nearly as long as HM. But there's always so much to do the closure of one ride (or two) isn't the end of the world. I have no idea how it effects crowds (will be experiencing it for the first time this year) but Labor Day Weekend will be boasting the Half Marathon, 5K and such.

These are both correct. If you don't mind missing some of the big rides and you don't mind the shorter hours, and your priority is low crowds, then it is an excellent time to visit. We have been twice in mid-Sept and loved the low crowds but as the PP said, it can be hot...we experienced a few 90+ degree days on both of our 2 trips.

We're used to hot weather... we're from Phoenix. And since we have little ones, we typically skip HM, SM and the late-night stuff anyways. Mornings are our prime-time, especially since the kids are up, and we have only previously been during busy times and holiday weekends. Hmmm, might work well for us.

What parade and fireworks will be featured on the weekends, do you think? (Our trip will cover a weekend, and our daughter loves the parades.)

We went last September 15th-17th and it was perfect. Crowds were low and the weather was great!!! I would definitely go that time of year again.

It will just be the regular stuff. RDCT and Soundsational. Of course WoC, so far has played nightly from it's premier last year, so it may become a weeknight show too. We have to wait and see on WoC.

Going during that time to get the low crowds during the weekdays and shows by spanning a weekend is a great idea.

Mid Sept is my favorite time to go as far as low crowds and nice weather. It is warm and not too busy. I think this year the best weekend would be Sept 9-11 as the weekend before is Labor Day and the weekend after starts Halloween time. Have a magical trip. :)
