Early September or End of November?

DH and I are planning on taking our twins (DD and DS who will be 5) to Disney next fall (2015). Originally, we were planning on leaving the day after Thanksgiving, driving all night and arriving at WDW on Saturday. We will be staying for 7 nights.

After a bit of thinking and wondering around the internet, I've been debating on changing our trip to the beginning/middle of September instead. I've always wanted to do MNSSHP as we have done MVMCP a couple of times in the past.

We took the twins in November of 2012 when they were two and the crowds were very manageable. Minimal wait times and not very crowded at all. It was extremely enjoyable. But I have never been in September. Most of the things I have read have lead me to believe the crowds will be low as well as the opportunity to have a Free Dining Plan.

So, my question is if it was up to you - which month would you opt for? I'm so indecisive and want our trip to be as magical as possible!

Thanks in advance!

I would say, since you have been to MVMCP before, shoot for September. The possibility of free dining is also a bonus. Will your twins start school in 2015? Just would have to consider if you want to pull them out of school just after it starts, or after they have established themselves a bit, and pull them out in November. If it were me, I would lean towards September.

so early September is h-o-t hot & muggy. I would avoid for this reason alone. If you don't mind the weather then go for it.

We went mid/late September last year and loved it. Very low crowds, literally walk on for majority of rides even at MK. It did rain pretty hard one day though and weather was our biggest fear due to Hurricane season. I would give it a go.

We arrived at WDW the Monday after Thanksgiving, 2012. We were luccky in that free dining was offered at that time. Crowds were really low and the temperature was perfect although it was a bit cool for swimming. In 2006, we arrived Sept 30 and it was very hot.

We went the last 2 years in early/mid September I can say that the crowd levels were amazing. The only time I ever felt like there were a lot of people was on a Friday afternoon of our trip in Fantasyland. Otherwise, we had next to no waits for anything and very little need for any fast passes with the exception of Mine Train and Anna and Elsa. Soarin had 20 minute waits mid afternoon, and TSMM 30 minute waits. In short, I am not sure there is a better time of year to go to avoid long lines.

That said, free dining promotion really fills up the TS restaurants. You will want to make dining ressies as ssoon as you can. The weather is also tricky. This past Sept it was super hot. It was also very rainy. We were lucky and missed most of it but the boards were full of posts about the rain.

I would overall say give it a shot because the low crowds and mnsshp are pretty amazing!

Sept is great crowd wise, but hot and humid and rainy. The weather is not very good at all.

Nov is my favorite time to go. The weather is beautiful, the crowds are not bad at all and the holiday decorations are up.

I would choose November because September is still so hot. We have enjoyed the last week of September for several vacations at Disney and it is a challenge for me. The heat takes it toll as I am so not used to it.

Good Luck and anytime you go to Disney is a great time to go:thumbsup2

We were there September 2nd - 16th this year and it was SO quiet!
(there are some photos in my trip report - linked in my signature if you want to see how quiet it was!)

Also MNSSHP is great fun. Orlando is really hot at this time of year, but if that doesn't bother you too much, I'd definitely recommend the very beginning of September :thumbsup2:goodvibes

Early Sept. is almost as hot as summer. The heat and humidity might make the kids miserable, so I would recommend November instead.
