Early Selection of Magic Bands

I posted this in the Canadian forum and was not able to get an answer...just thought I would broaden the audience in case anyone has any insight.

Hello,

We have our room booked for our August 2020 Disney Trip. We are seeing different Magic Bands available to pre-order and are able to complete the process. We are also on two reservations (same room, just the way the DVC points worked out).

I had a couple of questions. First, I had heard that we would be able to select 2 Magic bands because of the 2 reservation, but this does not seem apparent from the selection process. Second, can you order the pre-order Magic Bands this far in advance? I know these things come and go and sell out, but will they hold one if you buy it 10 months prior?

If it's available to buy now and they have what you want, I'd say do it. The selections change frequently, there's posts all about it on here! Mine shipped within a couple days of order, but you're results may vary being in Canada. You normally are able to get magic bands for each reservation you are on. If you are really wanting more and the option doesn't appear after your first order is placed I'd call Disney and ask.

Thanks, that makes sense. We have never had our Magic Bands pre-shipped to Canada - they are always only at the hotel when we get there. I give them a call and see what they say.

They will not ship Magic Bands to Canada unless something has changed recently.. I have tried. You will have to get them at the resort.

I would be worried about the magic bands that you order being available next August, if it were me. People in the USA will get them shipped to their home address, so they would have them soon. You have about 9-10 months to wait before they are shipped to the resort, I would think. What are the odds that it will be still available by then?

It depends upon how much you are willing to risk buying bands that you may or may not not receive when you actually arrive.

Yeah, agreed, that was my exact concern. Two of our registered party are in the US with a US address so I may try to see if we can arrange something with that.
