!!!! Early Roll Call for January 21 2006 Eastern Magic Cruise !!!!

Gydell

I emailed my request asking for the AM tour. They emailed me back in less than 2hrs with a confirmation number indicating all the AM tours were full and we were in the 2:00pm tour. This time will get us back to the dock at about 3:40pm. This is cutting it close. I'm going to check to see if there is any way to get an earlier tour. Also I checked their refund policy and see that you have up to 24hrs before tour time to cancel with no penlty.

I called and was told there was nothing earlier. They are very nice and said that we would be back at the dock at 4pm which is 5 minutes from the ship. They said they are in contant contact with the ship and would radio back if they were running late. I said oh has that happened before and she said no. She sort of laughed at me when I suggested that the ship would leave without us. She just kept saying that they are in constant contact with the ship and they would not leave. I told her it was our first cruise and she sort of went OOHHH. Kinda like that explains the nervous nelly. She then suggested I make a reservation through DCL. I said I would but we have an age issue but make their height requirement. She said they have explained to DCL it is not an age issue but a height issue but they just won't listen.
For now I an keeping my reservation and will try to book earlier through DCL. I have a while before I have to decide. Cancelation policy is 24 hours in advance.
I think it will be ok if we take the 2pm tour but well I'm just not positive yet.

SandieT

Have you called DCL to see how strict they are with the age issue? Our DD3 will be about 3 weeks shy of 4 at the time of te cruise. We will all be on the same tour at 2:00pm, so we wouldn't be alone if we "miss the boat". I know it is cutting it a little close, but from our past cruises we have seen people coming to the ship right up to and even after the time we were to leave. We should be OK. Craig

Craig,
I did call DCL and was told the age thing is set and I will probably not be able to make a reservation because the system won't let me or them do it. Won't stop me from trying but it looks like 2pm is it. Now, if someone is on that tour and they booked through DCL and the sub was late, my understanding is they would hold the ship for the others because it is a DCL reservation.
Having never been on a cruise I will rely on others opinions. Do you feel comfortable with the 2pm tour? Based on what the people at the sub place told me I feel comfortable on the 2pm tour.
(I think)
How's that for a definite maybe probably but we'll see. :bitelip:

I just talked to the sub tour and was told that there are only 9 places left on the 2:00 tour and that is it for the day. They also said that to plan 2 hours for the tour. I think that I am going to book it just in case we don't get DCL sub tour.

Hi there! We are on the 1/21 Magic. Me, DH, DS7 and DD5. We have been trying to take a cruise for a while but keep getting our plans bumped around for various reasons. I have a hard time believing it is really going to happen this time, but I am SOOOO excited.

DH isn't crazy about the cruise. Neither of us have cruised before. He knows that I really want to do it and the kids will have a blast. I really hope it works out great and he gets of the ship really happy!!

I live in VA and just spent the last few weeks watching the Magic out of the window in my office. I took the pictures below the day she left drydock. You can see the new jumbotron.

I've been trying to catch up on this thread on my lunch time, but it is taking a while. So I figured I would pop in and say hi now!

Here is the other picture of the whole ship. You might have already seen these on the main thread.

Craig and SandieT - Well I finally filled out the sub forms around 11 today for the 2:00 trip. I still have not heard back from them so I don't know if they are full yet. Hopefully we will get this trip.

Welcome cruisin4fun. Cool pictures of the Magic's drydock!

Me :Pinkbounc , DH :bounce: , DD 13 :lovestruc and DS 6 pirate:

See you all there!

Looks like the 2:00pm sub tour will be a DCL tour. At least if we miss the boat, we will have a large group to start a life in St. Thomas!!!
I just checked a rate for a Jan 07 cruise and see it will cost $1000.00 more than our Jan 06 cruise for the same catagory, a 10. A Cat 10 for Jan 07 will cost more than our Jan 04 cruise in a Cat 6. we may have to start lookng at other cruise lines. Craig

I'll be there in 2007 in a suite! Well that is if I win the $350 million power ball tonight!
Keep your fingers crossed!!!!!!
:cheer2:

Even better, reserve the whole ship for a 3 week special cruise with all new stops for your fellow Disney friends. What do you say "friend". Craig

I just need to be the one person out of like 10 gazillion (that's a number right?) that wins!!!!
