We are checking in CSR on Sunday. We plan to arrive early and spend the day at the resort. I did online check in.

Assuming the room is not ready, will they tell me what building we are in? And then do they text me with the room # when it's ready- is that how it works?

Thanks!

I doubt that they will give you any location information when you arrive if your room is not ready. They should text you when your room is ready but my advice is to check back periodically when you are ready to get in the room. Texts related to room availability are notoriously spotty.

Good luck and have a great trip.

They will tell you what general area you are in, but you won't know the exact room until it is ready for occupancy. You can choose call or text.

Thanks. Is a call more reliable than a text, or should I just plan on making a few runs to the front desk to check?

You don't need to go back to the resort to check. Just use your cell to call (CSR is (407) 939-1000) the resort from the parks, pool, restaurant, etc.

I've noticed that the texts have been getting better in the last couple of years, but yes, call or check back in periodically.

We received the text, but don't be afraid to check. In our experience, they wouldn't give us an idea of the building or area you'll be in. Depending on how busy they are, they may have to shuffle people around in a pinch, so I think that could be why.

The number you posted is not the number for the resort; none of the resorts have direct numbers. That goes to a CCC that may not even be on-site.

They will have no idea what room you are in. You need to use the number the desk gives you.

Since my phone is Canada I'm going to choose text. I will have a US text pkg added before I leave, and also I can't access voice mail out of the country for some reason, if I dont hear phone ring or am in an attraction when I get the call!

Yes and no... that is the number for the "resort" and will be answered as "Disney's Coronado Springs Resort....." You simply ask for the front desk when you call that number. You will be transferred and a CM can assist you from there.

The CM will not automatically transfer your call to the resort; they will determine if it is best to answer your question OR transfer it to the resort.

Makes perfect sense to me; why bombard the resort with a million ?'s. Watch of the front desk ever takes a call when you check-in.

I have been there when I called late at night when I was sick and they transferred me to the appropriate area who could arrange for transportation to the CCC; did not have anything to do with the resort.

If you call saying you are calling about your room, they will route your call to who can best answer it and it is not necessarily the front desk.

We do it at my job all the time. Disney is just very good about the illusion....
