Early Park Admission Question

My questions is pretty broad...what exactly is it? This is my second DL trip, and last time I went, there was no early entry. I've looked at the list of rides that will be available during this time, and there is no Rise of the Resistance. Do people still get in line during this time? Last time I was there, I rope dropped it and moved on. Would it make sense to go do something like Peter Pan and then go queue up for Rise? In assume they let you wait for it, but is that practical? I don't want a massive line to build of early admission-era while I sneak away to do Peter Pan.

Any thoughts welcome! I'm a Disney newbie, been to WDW once and DL once! I'm there for only one day and want to make it as magical as possible!

TIA!

Just want to be sure-- you're staying at a Disney-owned hotel, correct? (Not a Good Neighbor hotel booked through Disney.)

It is just for folks staying at one of the disney hotels. It doesn't start until august 8th and really no one really knows exactly what it's going to look like. It will be the first time it's available at both parks every day, and 30 minutes isn't a whole lotta time.

Personally I think there will be some folks to use it to get a good spot for rise or racers, but that's not what my family will do. We will use it to start knocking our fantasy land and non genie + rides, maybe space mountain. We will also use it to get a start on booking our genie + and ILLs.

In DCA we will use it for webslingers I am sure at least one day.

Oh wow, I didn't know it hasn't happened before (or at least in a long time). I'm staying at GCH and will be there in mid august. I just saw that there was an early entry added when I bought tickets and wasn't 100% sure on what people do with their limited time. But that's true, it is only 30 minutes. I would have to say I'll probably end up doing it like you! Maybe try to get something else done!

We agree with Katyringo and gelatoni (above)!

The 30 min window seems short, but when factored into the day it really matters. Using this in WDW really helped as the head start over the rest of the people in the area is a big deal. We will likely complete all of Fantasyland and move onto a mountain (although the Matterhorn is down when we are there) or the newly reopened Submarine Voyage before needing to use G+. We will book our LL and first G+ during this window as well. Same thing in DCA where we will start with GotG at the 30 min EE rope drop and then use G+ for a second ride later in the day. We aren't big Webslinger fans and Pixar Pier rides aren't part of the EE. We typically complete our tour of DCA by lunch and can relax with a bottle of wine at WCT. The extra 30 mins will only help to facilitate this plan.

Enjoy your day and don't forget to take in the magic that is the DLR (especially DL) even if you are trying to maximize your time.

It isn't that they have never done Magic Mornings, it is that it used to be like Example: Mon, Wed, Fri Disneyland and Tues, Thurs, Sun DCA. Now it seems it is both parks 7 days a week, at least so far. Plus they have a list of attractions (areas that will be open for MM) if you go in the app for the hours for that day there is a magic mornings link listing the rides for each park that are Magic Mornings rides.

What time should you be at the gates for early entry? If it’s 7:30 AM (8:00 AM regular park open) should you be at the gates by 7:00?

It’s been awhile since we have been when early entry was an option.

Can’t say exactly what the best approach will be until Early Entry starts and we get to see what actually happens.

Arriving at 7am for EE I’d guess will be plenty early, possibly unnecessarily early. But who know if EE will have dedicated entry gates or not.

I’d guess that there will be dedicated Early Entry gates because there used to be. But EE also used to be an hour. They generally open the gates a half hour early anyway and then hold people in the hub for rope drop. So I’m also guessing there will be a “check” somewhere at the hub to hold regular guests back, while allowing EE guests through, which they also used to do. It’s interesting because EE is only 30 minutes so it’ll be right on top of regular gate opening, so who knows exactly what they’ll do to manage it.
