Early or late dinner?

I have a ressie for 8PM 12/22 at Boma right now, but I'm wondering if I should try to get an earlier time. We didn't do any buffets when we went last time, so I'm just not sure. Will it be more crowded at 8? Is it better to get dinner out of the way earlier? I know that I know my family best, I'm just looking for opinions. Thanks!

8 isn't really any more or less crowded than, say, 6PM. It's basically still the same amount of tables being used and basically the same amount of people sitting at them. For the most part, the 2 times that the size of the crowd will be noticeably different is right when the dinner service opens and one of the last ADR's of the night as the restaurant empties out.

I wouldn't say that 8 would be more crowded than any other time. Disney keeps the buffets fresh (esp at a busier one like Boma) so the time won't affect your food temperature or freshness either.

The only reason to do an earlier dinner is if you want to do something at the parks after Boma, like go to Epcot for Illuminations or something. An 8pm dinner will probably end around 9-9:30 depending on how many people are in your party & how quickly you eat.

For the record though, I do love to go to Boma (and other Dis buffets) right at opening time if I can - its when everything is especially clean & untouched. Not that they don't keep things clean and fresh later, but I like it when they first open best.
