Early October at DL?

We prefer fewer crowds - so we aim for off season. However, last year we were at DL days before the official Halloween stuff was up, and we were kinda bummed we missed it - even though we'd planned it that way to avoid any possible crowds.

We always go mid-late September and love it. Once we've been early Dec to see the Cmas stuff and loved that but a bit chilly in the evenings.

We're thinking about early October to go. Is there any 'events' going on that'd make this week busy? Anything to avoid, aim for? Will the halloween stuff all be up?

We stay at DLH and usually do 4 days in the parks (3 at DL and 1 at CA).

Any info for an October trip?

The Halloween stuff will be up, I think it scheduled for like the last day of Sept or so. First week of October is Gay Days, can be very busy. Dont know the exact dates, but someone else on here will definately be able to tell you. We did mid October last year, it was incredible.

October 3-5 is Gay Days... I wish I was there then... Not that I'm gay, It's just gay people seem more plesant all the time! :thumbsup2

They have Mickey's Trick or Treat Party, formerly known as Mickey's Halloween Treat, at DCA. It's a separate ticketed event on certain evenings either from 6:30 to 10:30pm or 7:00 to 11:00 pm it all depends which day you go. Tickets do not go on sale until August unless you are a DL APH or a DVH. Here's the information

I will be going for the first time this October and I have heard good things about it so I'm excited!:dance3:

Oooh, thanks - gonna check on the Mickey treat stuff. We don't have APs, every year we look into it and then don't. Which works out ok since we seen to go once every 12-13 months.

Better avoid gay days, DH would throw a fit if I planned to be there then.

Thinking like Oct 7-12 at the DLH and 8, 9, 10 & 11 at the parks.

Those dates should be good. There is the halloween event on the 10th. Tix go on sale August 1 to the general public.

Those are the exact days we're going to be there!

Good to know that early/mid October is a nice time to go. :) We visited DL for the very first time in May (after the DCL Westbound Repositioning cruise) and now I really want to go back - despite the 12 hour flight to/from CA! :goodvibes

Don't mind the cooler weather as we're from Scotland - we get plenty of "cool" around here!

Shoot...
We're thinking of hopping to DL on Oct 2-6.
Are the crowds going to be crazy on the 3rd-5th?
Should we just forget about it? :(

I am going to DL Oct 2-6. Yes, is is GayDays weekend, but I don't care. I am actually hapy to be going then. Generally I find gay people at Disney Parks to be wonderful, and having a good old time. Less cranky then overwhelmed frazzled families anyway. In general. We will go to DL park on Fri and Sunday, and Cal. Adv on Sat, to try and go the reverse of most of the crowds. But the Friday night Halloween party might be extra fun I am hoping.

I'm bringing a couple of first-timers and regulars (all family) from Friday the 10th through Sunday the 12th. Its going to be roughly 14 people. We already booked so there's no way to change the weekend. What I want to know is if we're going to run into busy crowds that weekend. Anyone have experience with this weekend last year ?

Hi Pat ,
We might just pass by each other at DL :)
I'll have to ask DH if he's willing to endure the crowds... if not we might have to change it to the week before and lose an extra day... boohoo... :(
