Early November help please

My DH surprised me last night by asking about what would the parks be like the second week of November this year. He is a principal, so he never takes time off during the school year. It is my DD and my birthday week and he already has two days off of work for holiday and teacher in-service work day, so he would only need to take annual leave days for 3 days. I was beyond surprised as my DH never misses work. I can count on one hand how many times he has missed work during the school year since we were married 10 years ago. Anyway, I immediately did a search, but didn't come up with what I was looking for.

Our dates would be 11/7/10 - 11/13/10. The only thing I came up with is that it is not Jersey week. I was wanting to know what rides I could expect to be down for refurbishment. I didn't know if there are certain rides always down in Nov or if it varies year to year. I also noticed that last year the MVMCP started the 2nd week of November, so I assume the parks are decorated for Christmas by then. We have only been in the spring (Easter and spring break), so we are used to late park hours. What are the park hours usually like in November?

Please tell me your experiences or thoughts on an early Nov. trip to WDW.

In 07, we went from Nov 10th thru the 19th, it was wonderful!
The weather was perfect, about 80 in the day but night could be chilly so we had to pack jeans, jackets, etc...
We didn't have any rain, and we were able to do the first MVMCP of that season
Didn't notice any of the rides down the time we were there, we even rode Splash Mtn at night, at one point, my oldest DS and I were the only ones on our boat and the boats in front and back of us were empty too! That was pretty cool
We even did Blizzard Beach

We were there in Nov 09 but it was Jersey week and like the pp said it was great! The weather was perfect high 70's low 80's very low crowds - we didn't wait more than 5 minutes for anything. I don't know what rides will be down but Space Mtn was closed which was a bummer for us. I pesonally don't think it was warm enough for water parks but that's just my opinion. To be honest my biggest concern for that time of year was my kids getting sick. The whole month before all I heard about was H1N1 and OMG if you get it you could die! Well I went a little nuts before leaving with hand sanitizer and extra vitamin C and nobody got sick. Actually my dh had a cough when we went there and a couple days in the sun cleared that right up! I would go back in early Nov in a heartbeat!

I was there Nov. 15-20, 2009 and it was perfect. We'll be going this year the first week in Nov. and are really looking forward to it. Have a wonderful time!

We went from Nov. 11 - 20 in 2005. I took a journal with me on this trip and wrote up a trip report when I got home. I recorded the weather as well as our experiences with various attractions so maybe you can find some useful information. I have to apologize ahead of time as I tend to ramble & vent my frustrations when I write. I'm pleasantly surprised that DIS still has it.

Congrats on DH taking some time off work to spend with the family. November is an awesome time to visit. Great weather, low humidity, less crowds and did I say great weather. Oh I almost forgot, great weather. Enjoy your trip.
