Early morning Room Service

Never been on a cruise, I wonder how many people do this? It would seem staff would be very busy with all those trays.

I would love the cup of coffee and maybe toast while getting ready every morning. Even at disney, we often have coffee in room before a breakfast ADR cause we wake up at 7 ish and breakfast ADR isn't for an hour or more later.

I've read some people say they order it late at night and it comes in a thermos and is still hot in the morning.
I only do that on the last night because there is no room service the very last morning.
I screw the cap on super tight and wrap it in a pool towel (jic) then wrap all of that in the blue blanket, and throw a spare pillow on top. Heat is not escaping! Lol
It is still steaming in the morning.

So at least on DCL, room service is free, and one of the perks. We usually use it for port days when we have to get up early to make a shore excursion and don't have time to do the buffet restaurant.

For breakfast it's all dry goods, and cereals, etc. You can't order scrambled eggs and bacon, sadly.

I don’t have a precise number for you but there is a huge crew dedicated to dining. Cruising is a much higher level of service compared to parks.
Parks feel like work compared to cruising. Jmho.

You also have the buffet and a sit down restaurant going on for breakfast also. So room service is not the only option. There are also beverage stations with coffee and soda up at the pool deck. I used room service one evening for the all aboard cheese plate (so much cheese) and a Mickey bar. I called back for them to pick up the big tray when I was done. They said they would send somebody but after an hour it was almost fireworks time so I just brought it up to pool deck and put it where the dishes/cups go.

Like much else these days, it’s available through the app. No longer a printed menu in the stateroom desk drawer.
We had the paper one on the Fantasy 2 weeks ago, I believe there was one on the Wish too. I know we ordered that way. One asked to call for the tray to be picked up after, that was the Fantasy.

My husband just told me it is only the breakfast menu in the drawer. We hang it on the door.

My husband orders coffee every night. He unscrews the lid because he said it's too hot for him if he leaves it closed. This way we don't have to worry about someone coming early (he's not a morning person). He orders bananas to tide him over until he can have a meal.

On the Wish, we had a little door hanger for breakfast, but yeah, no menu for any other meal. That would be sweet, although I understand it's kind of a waste.

We were able to set up a standing order for our same order to be delivered each morning during our last cruise on the Magic. I know that won't work for everyone, but we wake up pretty much the same time no matter what day it is. It was nice to have the coffee delivery to count on. You are selecting a wimdow timeframe, so it's not guaranteed to be right at 7am, but we found a few minutes before or after was fine. If we needed to be up and ready early for an excursion, we would just set an alarm. DS9 is an early bird. So that wasn't needed.

We both prefer coffee when we first wake up. Slowly drinking while we read. It's really nice to just have it delievered so we can stay in pj's. However, we don't particularly like coffee on board DCL. Except the fancy coffee machine in the cafe that cost extra. So we have in the past bought some Starbucks VIA packs. One packet in the morning carafe, top securly one, give it a few swirls and the coffee is vastly improved.

We order a small snack for DS to munch on with our coffee. A piece or toast or a bowl of fruit.
