Early Morning Max-pass question

I have been working on a draft of a plan on Touring plans for our day at Disneyland on Dec. 6. It's pretty slick using their templates as you can insert maxpass to estimate when your return time will be that day. Anyway, here is my question:

If I attend Magic Morning and go through the turnstiles at 7am, I can immediately reserve a fastpass using max pass. I plan to do that for Space Mountain. On touring plans, the estimated return time is 8:05. Is the earliest I can get reserve my next Fastpass 8:05? For some reason I thought you get another one earlier but I could be mistaken.

Correct me if I am wrong, but typically you can reserve your next FP once you reach the timeframe of you return or 90 minutes later (whichever is sooner). Is that correct? Thanks for any help!

If I understand your question correctly, you would be able to book the next Fastpass at 8:05. I could be wrong but what I have experienced is that on a Magic Morning day the first Fastpasses that are available are after the "official" opening of the park. This is why the 8:05 return makes sense. After 8:05 you can grab another but be prepared for times very close to 8:00. Fastpass distribution is somewhat slow in the first part of the day.

Confused as to your confusion, I think.

You're right that it's when your FP time is active, or 90 minutes later. In the case you're describing, 8:05 is when you'd be able to book another one, as it's when your FP is active.

Thanks for the responses and it seems like I had the right idea. For some reason I had heard somewhere that you could get another FP earlier then the return time that hour-but that was probably false.

One other question:

For context, I prefer riding Big Thunder at night. Is it possible to reserve a FP for times later than the next available return time?

Example:
I click on Thunder MT to reserve a FP and the return time is 4:00. Is there anyway to bypass that and reserve a 7:00?

I'm guessing the answer is no but thought I would check. It probably isn't a factor because I would be able to reserve an evening one later anyway.

No. You can sometimes get earlier FPs than what the machines are distributing because of cancellations, but you can't ever get one later. You just have to wait until the return times get to the time you want.

To be honest I have never tried to book an additional FP in that time frame. I can say for certain that at 8:05 you will be able to get your next FP and it will most likely be around 8:05. Effectively giving you two at the same time.

You are correct, you can’t pick a time like WDW. Just keep checking the app and grab the time when it becomes available.
