Hello,
Has anyone driven to MK for Early Morning Magic? I like to take my car to the parks, but I know that officially the transportation from the parking lot to MK doesn't start until 45 minutes before park opening (which would be 9 am that day). I'd hate to get to the parking lot and find no way of actually getting to the event. Any advice from someone with experience would be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks

Transportation from MK parking lot to park not starting until 45 min before park opening is not true.

You'll definitely be able to drive to the park and have transportation over. Transportation over will likely be starting around 6:30am. If they didn't have transportation over then many guests would be missing ADRs

They don't have an event and then have no way to get someone to the event.

You can bus from any resort with more than enough time to get to MK
You can drive to TTC and take the monorail to MK or ferry if it's not running and get to MK in time.

Recon they'll ever start giving out correct info on what time the buses start running? From both the TTC parking lot and the resorts

Thank you very much for the info.

When we went they had buses running from TTC to MK (and it was so fast!).

They will have some sort of transportation running before early morning events/breakfasts. Not all modes of transportation will necessarily be working, but they will have some form available whether it's ferry, monorail, or bus.

Well...I had a different experience late last summer. We has a 800 ADR at BOG on 900 park opening day (this was before the park opening change). I wasn't sure how long it would take to drive to MK, so we got there early. Maybe 710 -720am. The monorail was closed for repairs. There were no buses. The worker I could find told me my only option was to take the ferry which would start at 8am (My guess is that this was incorrect info. Probably the ferry started earlier or buses would arrive.) I was considering calling a taxi...and then realized it wouldn't drop me off at MK, they can only drop off at TTC. (I was too flustered to think about getting dropped off at Contemporary) Finally a man in a white van said he would drive us over. Yeah...read that again. And I did it. I mean it was fine, but afterwards I did mentally kick myself for jumping into a van with my kids like that.

Anyway...I won't drive to MK this year. I have an EMM and 2 8am breakfasts. No matter how much I counsel myself to relax, I will stress myself out worrying about the transfer. I'll drive to all the other parks. I love having my car for transportation to and from parks.

I have done EMM twice, and it was no problem at all.

The first time, we drove to the TTC, arriving around 6:45. We walked over and got on the first ferry of the morning, which departed at 7am. This was on a Tuesday and the monorails (both resort and MK) were closed for maintenance.

The second time, also on a Tuesday, we arrived around 7. The ferry was not at the dock, and I assume we just missed it. However, the resort monorail was running. Piece of cake.

We also had one PPO Cinderella's Royal Table on a Sunday. The resort monorail was running, but the MK was not.

One of the two (ferry or monorail) seems to always be available, but, like you, I was VERY nervous (hence the 6:45 arrival - I wanted a little extra time to try a backup plan) the first time we did it, and it turned out to be such a nonissue. We are early birds at Disney (NOT at home), and we have been able to drive everywhere we've wanted to go so far.

Maybe it's worth a try again. Since they let people in much earlier than last year, the transportation simply must be regularly available.
