Early morning flight question

Is it possible to check your bags the night before?
You've already had some good info given. You need to understand that DME/RAC isn't going to work perfectly for every guest. Since RAC closes down at 1pm, you can't leave your bags with them for a flight that departs after 1am the next morning. That leaves out all those early morning flights.
So, yes, you will have to bring your bags with you, to the DME bus. They will be handed back to you when you get to MCO and you will then check them the 'old fashioned' way!!

My son had a 6 am flight and was told to be ready for ME pick up at 3 am. He and his friend were picked up earlier than 3 since they were at the airport at 3:18am when he called us because no one was at the airport to check baggage or anything and he wasn't sure what to do. They had to wait till about 4am for employees to start work. Not sure why Disney wants them there when the airport isn't even really "open" for business yet. At least they didn't miss their flight. I told him to set his alarm in case they fell asleep.
Disney doesn't say you have to be there that early...they run the buses on a schedule. And the schedules aren't changed because there may not be any workers at the airport. If you have a 6am flight, then DME will give you a pick up time of between 5:45 and 6:15. It sounds like your ds got a p/u time of closer to 5:45. The issue is that there were probably not many other guests going back to MCO at that time, or that they were the last ones on the bus, so went directly to the airport! I have been on a bus that spent 25 mins onsite before leaving for the airport.
The airports tell us to arrive 2 hrs prior to our flights.
