Early Magic Hour question

We are staying at CBR for Thurs- Sun at the end of October. Now since we received 2 free passes, we are thinking of spending Wednesday nite off- disney and going in to the MK for the EMH on Thursday morning. Can we do this as we are checking into our hotel on Thurs. but we are not officially checked in during the EMH hour? Do you need to have the resort ID to get into the early hour?

You do need a valid Disney resort ID to enter the parks during EMH, as they check these before you enter the parks.

If you early check-in at your resort (in this case, very early), you will get your room key at that time, which will grant you access to the EMH.

Thanks - maybe I will try that. Has anyone ever tried to check into their resort at 7:00 am? Did they just laugh at you? I can't add another day to my reservations. The TA said it would mess up my ressies and I would loose my free passes. And the early hour is not worth that.

I think you should be OK with that time. Your room may not be ready, but they should be able to give you your resort ID's. I think the computer's reset about 5 am.

Of course, though, if it were me, I would call the resort direct and see what they say just to cover myself.

You won't have any problem checking in at 7:00. You usually need a resort ID to get in for EMHs. Once in while they don't check...I've gone through without showing one...but I wouldn't take the chance.

Depending on where you're staying, it can take a while to get to the Magic Kingdom. So, be zippy about getting over there if you're checking in at 7:00.

OK - I can get up early. When I am on vacation, I do not sleep. I can sleep at home. So if I get to the hotel by 7:00, and check in - do you know if they will give me a hotel parking pass at that time so if we drive on to the Kingdom, we won't have to pay to park.
Thanks for all this advice. I just need to plan ahead as I fall apart at last minutes decisions. And we weren't expecting to get the 2 free passes with our room reservations. What luck!

Yes, you can get your parking pass when you check in. But I would recommend taking the bus to MK, much faster.
