For you experienced cruisers...what is the earliest I could safely book a flight out of MCO on disembarkation day? We'll have a limo pick us up at the port to take us to MCO, and right now I'm considering an 11:40 AM flight out. But I want to be sure that we could make that time though before I book it.

I booked air for my DM and DB's family thru DCL and they scheduled them for an 11:00 AM flight back to Chicago for the 15th of May. We were originally scheduled for 11:35 for our flight (which I booked) but now has been changed to 2:00 PM due to a change by American airlines. I have read on this board that anytime after 11:30 should be OK unless the ship has a delay. - Mike

We did this last Saturday!
We ate breakfast in Parrot Cay at 6:45, then waited in the line to exit the ship. Found our bags, got a porter and headed over to the tent across the street to meet our limo. Our Happy Limo driver had just pulled in. He put our bags in the back, tipped the porter and we were off! We were at the airport with our bags checked curbside by 8:30! Plenty of time to spare!

It's certainly doable, but it leaves little or no room for error at any stage of the process. If there's a problem finding your luggage, a hold up at customs/immigration, a problem with your transportation, traffic between Port Canaveral and MCO, long security lines, etc., you could be in for a stressful time. None of those are common, but none of them are unheard of either. I personally wouldn't book a flight that early unless it was the only option available, but your tolerance for nail biting travel experiences may be higher than mine.;)

My tolerance is not that high, trust me. I worry about everything. We're not going until next January though, so I'm sure lots of things will change before then. It's just my preference in airlines is only showing one return flight from Orlando that day at 11:30 a.m. But I may just have to bite the bullet and pay more for another airline and avoid the stress. Thanks for the input!
