We are booked on a 6:00 a.m. JetBlue flight out of Logan in April. It was the cheapest flight so we booked it, but now I'm worried about getting to the airport on time! I looked into staying over at a hotel with a shuttle, but lots of the shuttles start at 5:00 a.m., which is obviously too late. The bus we usually take doesn't run that early either. Do car services run that early? How early do we need to be there? Without traffic, we are probably 45 minute south of Boston. We are a group of 6 which includes two kids and two seniors, so we don't move very quickly. Any advice would be very welcome!!!

Maybe have a limo service pick you up? I am not sure of the prices. I am wondering about some of the shuttle services such as Flightline.

I'm not sure of the cost of staying at the Airport Hilton but at least from there you can walk to all the terminals at Logan.

Hi,

Most of the stay & fly out of Revere, MA, have 24 hour shuttle. Try buyreservations.com, I used it a couple of years ago with no problems.

I am going in October and using the following busline http://www.ridecj.com/ that has parking and starts from Portsmoth, Newburyport, etc. It appears to be a good price and avoids Boston traffic. :scared1:

I can't speak specifically for Logan, but we always take the first flight out. We like to get to Disney as early as possible! We are about 45 minutes outside of Chicago. We always have a limo service pick us up at about 4 am for our flight at about 6:30 or so. At least in Chicago-land the limo services run around the clock, and can accomodate whatever time you need them. We've never had a problem getting there, and the airport is usually still nice and quiet at 5 am. Good luck and have a great time! :cutie:

Call some local cab companies and see what their rates are; also see if you can prearrange for them to pick you up when you get back, for a fixed rate. I'm north of Logan, and cab companies here have a fixed rate of about $45 inbound and do have some vans.
Or you could do park & fly. Check Thrifty. Yes, it's a rental agency, but they're straight past the airport - no side streets, no chance of getting lost - and offer low P&F rates and 24 hour shuttles. Drop off the group and all your luggage at the terminal, then just one person drives to drop off the car and gets shuttled back to the airport.

I recently looked into Flightline for a 6am flight out of Logan. They do charge an $11 premium for pickups between 11pm and 4am but they will get you there on time no problem.

Border Limousine Service was highly recommended to me on this board a long time ago. I don't know their rates for your party size but it wouldn't hurt to contact them as well.

We have a 7am flight out of Logan in Dec. I booked the Embassy Suites at Logan through 123stay.com. Six people can stay in one room and you can park your car for up to 10 days. The shuttle is 24/7. Total was $206. The front desk at the hotel recommended 123stay.com because they could give me better rates than the hotel could. Go figure!

Having lived in the area a few years back I'd like to advise another direction. Forget Boston Logan and think about PVD. It isn't that far from you and is far less busy.

The OP stated she's already booked on a 6:00 a.m. flight so suggesting another airport is really not very helpful. I've flown the JB 6:00 a.m. out of Boston. We're about 50 min. west of Logan. We're used to getting up early for flights so we just set our alarm for really early, get up & go. Limo companies will likely charge you a surcharge for that early of a pick-up. I've looked into it & that was the case for me. We always drive ourselves & park at either Park, Shuttle, & Fly or PreFlight. Both of them are excellent & have shuttles available almost immediately to drive you over to Logan. If driving yourself doesn't appeal to you I would recommend staying at one of the hotels close to the airport & taking their shuttle. Good luck.

Not sure where you are south of Boston but we live on the Cape and have taken the P-B bus to Logan for 6am flights and arrived on time. I am pretty sure we took the first bus available. Check out their website for schedules and fares. We also stayed at the Hampton Inn just outside Logan with a Park and Fly rate and never had a problem getting a very early shuttle.... lots of pilots and flight attendants stay at both this and the old Holiday Inn( not sure what it is now) and need very early shuttle service. And love arriving at WDW at 10am!!!!

There is a Holiday Inn Express with a Park and Fly package and early shuttle. I think it is technically in Revere. I stayed there a few years ago, and it was clean and inexpensive.

If you're looking to avoid driving in yourself I would find a limo service in your area. We fly out of Logan often and I've looked into the limo services and most are available 24 hrs/day.

The Logan Express runs very early from Framingham, Woburn and Braintree. It's @$22/adult RT, kids 12 and under are free. Parking runs @$70/wk. We used it last summer for a 6:30am flight, got the 4:00 shuttle and had to wait around until 5:00 when JetBlue starts checking in passengers.

Another alternative would be to drive and park in long term parking. It's @$110 for 7 days. The airport shuttle runs every 15 minutes/24hrs.

A lot of the car companies do have added charges for pick ups between midnight and 6 am, as well as additional charges by distance, this might be an expensive option. For me, it would be $150+ each way.

Have a great trip!

Not sure exactly where you are, but sounds like you may not be far from me. I'm in the Bridgewater area. We have done the first flight out of Logan many times on Delta and JetBlue. We have a car service in East Bridgewater that we use, and he's picked us up as early as 4-4:30am. At that time of the morning, there is literally NO traffic whatsoever.

Let me know if you want the name/number of the car service we use.

Who knew you were so close??? My dd is looking at Bridgewater State for next year.

OK--how is it that your DD is already looking at colleges? That's just WRONG. :lmao: (Of course DS is going to be a HS Freshman this year, and that makes me want to throw up ;) ).

We have stayed at the Wyndham Boston Chelsea... comp shuttle to Logan 24hrs... and we found a park & fly coupon in the WS Journal... for $109 for the room and 14 days of parking!

We've also stayed at the Courtyard Marriott in Revere when we've had the 6am out of Logan, and they also have a comp 24hr shuttle. I like the Wyndham better, because they have a nice bar & restaurant, we had a great dinner!

Though staying at the Courtyard, gives us a nice excuse to go to the Hilltop Steakhouse!!!! :thumbsup2

Have fun!
