How are the parks, weather, etc. in early February? We've always gone in May/June. Is it too cold for the pool (SAB)? How close to Presidents' Day do the crowds start increasing? (We'll be going Feb., 5-13 2005 - BCV).

We went this year and it was slightly more crowded than Sept (when we normally go)because Disney has this florida resident savers thing were they received a 4 day park hopper pass for $109 BUT it definitely was not what I would call crowded but not dead eaither. We did the water parks and went in the pool it was a little chilly but the pools are heated so it isn't bad until you get out LOL. I would definitely go again in February :)

We were there the first 10 days of Feb this year - the weather was nice, still a bit cool some days (needed a jacket/sweater), but there were several days we spent by the pool.

Crowds weren't too bad, except that we hit some kind of cheerleader competition, so for about 7 of the days there were swarms of teenage girls all over the place. So you might want to check on when that falls before you go. It still wasn't horrible, but we were used to just walking right on the rides at that time of year and there were lines at times on the more popular attractions.

Generally, as long as you avoid the holiday weekends, it's a great time to go.

Rash,
We will be joining you from Feb 6-11 at the BCV.
It is Mardi Gras week in New Orleans and time to get to WDW.
Good thing is that President's week is 2 weeks later.
Our experience during this time is the parks are generally not too busy and the weather can be anywhere from 32 degrees to 80 degrees.
Hope to see you there.

Parks are still pretty empty until you get a few days away from President's week, the weather is anyone's guess, but as a rule I would not count on too many days sunny yourself by the pool, then again you could get very lucky and have many days by the pool. the nights are cool to cold. I went President's Week for years, the weather really starts to change in Feb as do the crowds.

First two weeks of February:

Highs: low 70s
Lows: High 40s

Rainier than January or March, it remains a relatively dry month at about 3.1 inches

Crowds are mixed, picking up a little from January, but still quite comfortable. They become large once Presidents' Day weekend hits, followed by "winter" and "spring" breaks of schools and colleges.

We are there every Mardi Gras and 2005 wil be no exception. We loved it last time Mardi Gras was early like it will be. We do not go swimming-we will leave that to the snowbirds. The weather is great-shorts, sweatshirts and maybe jeans a day or two!
