We will be in DL ONE day and want to get the most out of it.

Is there any way, other than buying a 3 day pass, that we could get an early entry Magic Morning pass?
We will be there January 1st so I know it will be a busy day and we would love to get our little giril on a few of those fantasy rides.

We are not staying at Disney - we'll be at Hojo's.

Our cruise leaves the next day so there is no flexibility with dates.

Unfortunately no, the only other way to get one is by staying at a DL hotel. If you plan wisely, though, and read all the great tips on here, you can still absolutely get the most out of Fantasyland, and the rest of the park, just pack your patience :)

MM doesn't appear on a separate pass. The benefit is embedded into the actual parkhopper pass (which needs to be 3 days or longer). The only other way to get in is with a Disneyland Resort hotel room key which shows your name and dates of stay on it.

Sorry.

January 1, 2010 is a Friday, so not a Magic Morning day anyway. The only other way, if it was a MM day, to get that other than with the 3-day pass would be to stay at one of the DLR hotels. Magic Mornings are offered on Tuesdays, Thursday, Saturdays, and Sundays.

January 1 is a Friday, so it's not an early entry day anyway - the usual days are Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday, Sunday. Or do they do special early entry days during the really busy times of year?

If you are at the park when the turnstiles open then you can usually do a fair number of rides in the first hour or so while people are still arriving. I'd think that would be especially true on New Year's Day when so many people are going to be sleeping in late because they were out partying the night before.

Thanks - we'll just plan carefully.

It is isn't a MM anyway than at least no one else will be any further ahead than us!

We'll have just arrived from the east coast so being there for park opening will be no problem with the time change.

Make sure to get there at least 45 mins before opening, so that you are first into the parks, then go directly to Fantasyland.

I completely agree....especially on 1/1/10.

(note - you'll arrive at the security gate 45 min. before rope drop...hopefully first few in line....then will proceed to the DL turnstile 30 min. before rope drop.)

It's great that Friday is a non MM day, you'll be able to plow thru the slow loading Fantasyland rides first (Use my MM touring plan as a guide to tour FL the first hour.....obviously you'll customize if there are attractions you want to skip....but the order you do FL is important on a busy day). It's also great you're coming from the east coast, it will be easy to get up early....(& get up early!!:))

Getting there early, Planning & FP collection on a very crowded ONE day tour is key. After reading the links above (& my one day trip report below might be helpful)......make a touring plan & report back. You'll get lots of opinions. :)

Have a great time planning a visit to Walt's Park. :thumbsup2

:)
