Early entry-WWHOP only? Right?

Hi - Continuing to obsess over details! Do I understand correctly that, staying onsite, our early entry privileges only extend to WWOHP? Or are other IoA rides open early, too? Thanks!

Yes, only the Harry Potter area is open for that hour. We got off FJ and did a quick ride on the Hippogriff. Tried to move on and realized it was only 8:30. Had to do FJ again.

If you have any interest in seeing Ollivander's, I recommend arriving early in the early-entry hour and get in line. It will never be shorter. Only afterwards should you do FJ.

I agree. We lined up as soon as we got there for early entry and were in the second showing. There was plenty of time to ride FJ a couple of times and browse the shops.

Just curious, if you go to Olivander's first then do you need to go to the lockers to put the wand you buy in there before FJ? Trying to make the most of that hour!!

I heard the wand does not fit the lockers.

There's no need to buy the wand as soon as you're done with Ollivander's. Just buy one later on at the Owl Post or any of several other locations.

Really? I guess I misunderstood what Olivander's was all about. I thought it was a production for "picking" your perfect wand? My DS11 is sooo excited to do this!!

Yeah only WWOHP. We got in and out within that hour. We didnt do olivanders though. We even made our way to suess and just looked around for a while before the park started operating. Its a cool feeling to see all the rides start up.

Also youve probably been told this but GET TO THE GATE EARLY. We planned on getting there 15 minutes early and it turned into 5. We then proceeded to stand in line for 10-15 minutes. Get to the gate and DONT MOVE. It wont be wasted time if you bring something to eat for breakfast or soemthing. We spent the time putting sunblock on my ghostly white boyfriend and his brother.

Yeah, it's only a short show. You can't buy anything until you exit into the next door gift shop. How convenient!

Be aware that only one person out of a couple dozen is picked to participate in the show.

So get to the gate by 7:45am? Is there a crazy mad dash once they start letting people in. How busy is that first hour? Can you really go on the ride a few times.

you can buy anything you want in the stores and have them handle the care of your purchase until you leave the park.

you buy an item at the shop.
have it sent to the main merch store at the front of the park.

you will be given a claim check and told you can pick the item up later in the day.

this perk is for all guests, day guests, hotel guests.........anyone is eligible to use it.

if you are staying onsite for more than one night, you can have the item sent directly to your room after you purchase it.

you do not have to carry purchases around with you all day while in the park.

buy the item and have it held for you until you leave the park that day.



i lost my claim check and had to show some type of id to retrieve my package.
all i had with me was my hotel on site room key.

i had to describe the wrapped item before they gave it to me.



btw, you can also use this service if you want an item mailed to your home.
it will be wrapped for traveling.

Well, we went in a non busy week in September so I may not be the most accurate person to ask. When we went we walked briskly but there werent heards of people stampeding over you. They have cast members set up to stop running kids and such. Once we got in we stopped for butter beer and pictures. We emptied our glasses and headed to FJ. we pretty much just "walked" on (maybe 5-10 minutes). In fact we were so busy stopping to look at stuff in the queue we let a few people skip us. The most hecktic part was trying to get a locker for our bookbag. After FJ we headed to get a drink and stop at the candy store and grab breakfast. (=) college kid candy breakfast-YUM!) Then hit up the dragon challenge (or whatever it's name is now), and looked around some more before heading out. Somewhere in there we rerode FJ with a 20 minute wait. The lowest it was all day.

Once we saw the 9oclock crowd rolling in we rounded up the group and headed to Seuss land. As long as you take a laid back approach to the park and dont rush everywhere you will do just fine. Just make sure whatever you do DO NOT LEAVE WWOHP before you do EVERYTHING you want to do!

there are parry hotter packages with early entry for some of the partner hotels.


by staying at an universal partner hotel does not qualify for early entry.
it has to be the package..

That's what I thought too but apparently there are some unadvertised perks that no one seems to know about. I was corrected on the Transportation and Disney Theme Park boards for saying the same thing but apparently everyone can get early entry these days.

yes that's what i booked everyone who goes through uninversal and books a partner hotel with tickects gets in ealry. It saves a little bit off the Potter package as the meal is not included. Plus you have a bit more flexability on the hotel and price you pay

i am on the transportation board and theme park board a lot and must have missed that one.
