Early entry question

I know there is a thread about early entry right now, but I didn't want to hi jack it. Question: if ioa is the only park with early admission right now: is it faster to do ioa and take the Hogwarts express to the studios to do diagon alley? or is it faster to get in line early at the studios, and hope that they let you in early...which way gets you to diagon alley quicker is my question. thanks. will be there in 9 days.

we were there last week. I would just head over to IOA and get all my rides done there first while the lines were short then take the train over to Universal. They are not going to let you in early at Universal.

Depends..When we went in Jan, One day we took the Hogwarts express over and got there at the same time as the gate people.2 other days the Hogwarts express had technical issues and didn't open till late and by that time the Studios were open awhile.You cant always count on the HE being up and running was our experience with it

This is my dilemma. I wonder if we're better off getting that bit of extra sleep and just heading to the gates early for US. To make matters more confusing, two people posted on another thread earlier this week that when they were there a week or so ago, that US just opened the gates at 8:30 (so a full 30 minutes early).
