I'm not very familiar with Universal/IA. I noticed on their site it doesn't show an early entry park for June. Is the calendar not updated yet for June?
Sorry to post what might be considered a very elementary question for the experts.
TIA :-)
Amy

We are going to be there June 16th and get 1 day park to park tickets. We will be staying at Cabana Bay so we will have early entry.
I've read where people have said to go to IA first then UO because UO is more impressive for Harry Potter fans.
Should we just plan on going to whichever park has early entry and then plan from there?

we all do the parks different.
the first time you go to the darkside, i know you want guidance from others that have already been there.
i was like that the first time i went to the motherland.

Since this is your first time and you are only doing one day, i figure you want to see it all.

look at the park map on line.
write down everything you must do

use early entry to get some of the potter things done.
once the park is open to all, use HE to travel from one park to another.
you can always go back to that park since you have the p2p ticket.

use the single rider lines for when they are available for rides on your list.
this will save you time.
your party can be in the line together until you get on a ride.
meet up when all are off the ride.
if you have kids with you in the srl, line them up in the middle of your group.
this way an adult will be off first and can wait for the others.

hope you have a great time in the parks!

Thank you very much for the information and I think we will love it!
He had ventured to the darkside once, but it was in 2012 and Diagon Alley didn't exist.
It will be myself, DD 18yr, her BF 20 yr, and DS 15 yr. -so we will be able to use single rider lines just fine.
I'll do what you suggested and look at the map and choose what we want to do.
I'm sure I'll be back before we go to get some last minute advice.
Thanks again!

I know some posters think I am ridiculous for tellilng them to look at the park map online to see what there is to cover.
I always did that in the beginning years i went to the darkside as all i knew was disney and their parks.

by looking at the UO map, i located restrooms locations which was a necessity taking kids on that trip, places to eat that had food we would like, first aid for getting bandaids for blistered feet, and places where we could buy water or get free cups of water in the park.
and i could see the locations of all rides and shows i wanted to do that day and had an idea of the route to take in the parks.
if you find there are crowds in the parks, you could switch the style you are using and do the rides with the shortest lines first and then go on to the ride where you have to wait longer.
if you know where to go in the parks, it is easier to figure out.

before my next trip, i will recheck the menus at the eateries in the park to see if there are any changes.
that way i will know before i get to the place if i want to sub another eatery instead.

do look at the park guide map when you get in once inside the park.
show times wil be listed on it.

do look at the signs in the front of the park before you go through the gates.
this is where UO lists if a ride is down that day.
saves you from walking to a ride and then finding out it is closed.

come back anytime if you have more questions.
someone is always around to help.

Thank you for the tips!

you are very welcome.
there are things that i forget which might be helpful to a first time park guest.
so, i wanted to share what was good for me in case it would help

Where are you finding the early hours? I followed the link and it didn't work. I checked the website through hours and didn't see it on there. I'm looking for the early hour for April.

*Edited - I see it on there now, I clicked too soon. Their page isn't working right now though.

That was where it used to be. Says it is "extinct" right now. Hopefully they return it to that same page.

Yes it will return
Link is down as they are adjusting the future hours

It was functioning day before yesterday
I'm in the process of creating a sticky that has helpful links to use for an UO vacation.

park hours is one UO link I removed from the sticky as was told it is being updated

Link will be back soon
