So is it true that Guests staying at the DL Hotel GC hotel or PP hotel get into either park an hour early??? How has it worked out so far?? And most importantly how has it been with carsland??? Are the fast passes distributed during that first hour??? What have lines been like that early for RSR????

Currently and into most of September resort hotel guests get Extra Magic Hours into eith park everyday. They can enter an hour before regular guests.

Most go to DCA, and to Carsland. Radiator Springs Racers often opens late and the guests wait in line often 15, 30 or 45 minutes or more for it to open. When that happens the wait grows roughly to double that time it takes to open as more people get in line. When RSR is open when EMH starts the waits stay in the 15 minute range until regular opening.

FP are not distributed until the regular opening but EMH guests can get in the line 15, 10 even 5 minutes before park opening and have a FP by 8:05 or 8;10.

Hi
so does this perk for hotel guests finish sometime? Or is it ongoing?
We are booked for October and it was one reason we booked the GCH.

I believe it is currently scheduled to go through September, but there's lots of thought it may continue.

EMH guests were getting in line as early as 7:15 last week as CA let's everyone else in starting about 7:30 a and starts walking them slowly towards Carsland before letting the rope drop right at Bugsland which is where the racers fast pass is.

After the end of September, the EMH will not be offered in both parks everyday. EMH will be at DL on T, TH, Sat & Sun. DCA will have it M, W & F.

My wife and I just got home from the Disneyland Resort yesterday. It was very busy, and we found it was vital to use that early entry to get on some rides before the parks got too mobbed. Our first morning we rode Star Tours twice, Space Mountain, and The Matterhorn before the park opened to the public. We had an idea for doing that in California Adventure. I wanted to get a FastPass for Radiator Springs racers then hit some of the other Cars Land rides. But, the FastPass machine wasn't available until 8:00, and I didn't want to waste precious time waiting. So my wife and I tried to walk on to Radiator Springs, along with everyone else, and it was not running. So we went to Paradise Pier and rode California Screamin', Toy Story Mania, Mickey's Fun Wheel, Silly Symphony Swings, and Goofy's Sky Skool. So that early entry for hotel guests was a great way to hit some rides, since the parks were so busy.

We had an APEE for DCA last Thurs. This is what we did:

6:30ish- arrived at the gates, got scanned in for APEE. We were about half way back in line.

7:00am- gates open and we go directly to LFT. This ride is always at least an hour wait. We walked right on and CM gave us a "tour" of Luigi's Tires as we quickly walked through the show room. :) Most of the crowd went to RSR but I would not recommend this because 1) if you are not one of the first people through the gate, you have a long wait. 2) this ride often seems to take a while to get up and running in the morning. MJJ gets down to under 30 min later in the day so didn't want to use morning time on this one either.

After LFT we went to TSMM and rode it twice without getting off.

7:35- We get in line for RSR FPs. People in the parks early do not have to go stand behind the general crowd who got in for 7:30 rope drop or FP line. You get to line up ahead of where their line starts. At opening the two lines merge. However, since we were near the back of the early entery FP line, we noticed that at 8am people from rope drop were coming over into the EE FP line instead of going to the back of their line. There was a CM standing at the gap in the rope and just let anyone wander through. I thought she should have been stopping people from entering there after 8am.

8:10- We have our RSR FPs and rode ToT almost walk on, then got FPs for Screamin which was still disconnected from the rest of the machines. And then I rode Mickey's Scary Wheel for the first time. :)

After 9am we we started park hopping.

I am curious how this works. Do I need to produce my room key to show I am staying at a DL hotel? I am booking my hotel and theme park tickets separately to get all the discounts I can. My tickets will be 5 day park hoppers, which entitles me to one Magic Morning I believe. But on top of that I get early entry for staying at a DL hotel?

If you are staying @ Disneyland Hotel or Grand California or Paradise Pier for all of your 5 days you entitled to use Early Magic Hours for your entire stay & have a CHOICE of which park to enter @ 7am from now until Sept. 29th REGARDLESS of what park tickets (hoppers, annual passes etc...) you purchased! YESSSS.... YOU NEED TO SHOW YOUR HOTEL KEY CARD & I HEAR THEY ARE CHECKING FOR DATES.

The 1 Magic Morning on your hopper tickets ONLY applies to when you ARE NOT STAYING ON PROPERTY. (other neighboring hotels)

Thank you so much for the good news!

This may be a silly question, but is it possible to know whether or not the ride is running yet as you get in line?

Our plan was going to be to ride RSR and then get a FP for later. We always get so much accomplished at DL during that first hour, I'd really hate to waste it waiting for RSR if it's not even running yet. Is it obvious when it's running and when it's down (can you see/hear it BEFORE you get in line)?

They girl told us as we went through the gate that it was down until noon. Don't know if every person at the gate told people or just this girl.

I have asked that very same question in several different threads. No answer.

Yes, CMs will certainly tell you whether or not its running, and they will always give you the option of standing in line or leaving. Also with the RSR line, it goes under the actual ride so you'd be able to tell whether or not the ride is running even if you were standing in line.
