Quick question: if I am staying in a DLR hotel (and as a result get early entry privileges), it is my recollection that I can take up to a total of 6 people into early entry (including myself)==does anyone know for sure?

I do! I do!

Yes, you can take up to 6 people in total on your charge slip. :goodvibes

So, I'll see you Sunday morning??? ;) :rotfl:

You haveto show charge slip? You don't just show them your room key? Do they even put your park days on the room key? How many cards to I have to carry around?

two--your room key to get in your room and a separate slip of paper that you can use to charge things to your room. This is what you have to show for early entry.

You need the charge slip to get into MM (EE) if staying at a DLR hotel. (It shows the dates)

The key doesn't have the dates, nor does it allow you to charge to your room (gotta keep the charge slip with you).

On the other hand....if staying off site.... the MM priviledge is embedded in the 3+ day park hopper so you don't need the room slip.

Whoops, Toocherie beat me to it. :)

So the room key is just that a "room key". I use a slip (is it just paper?) to charge stuff to my room? I think that it is easier to lose a piece of paper than it is to lose a card. What if it gets wet and ruined? Do I go get another one from the hotel so I can charge my dinner? This is my first trip to DL and so far WDW is sounding more organized, "guest friendly". I do not think I saw any of this in the "DL for WDW Vets" sheet. If it is sorry I missed it. If it is not then maybe it can be added.

Yep, DLR is much behind the times compared to WDW. No "Key to the World" no finger scanning. I like to think of it as old school. :smokin: If your paper charge slip gets wet or ruined, just go get another one. I would think it would be fine in your wallet or folded in a lanyard holder (if you have one).

Thank you for the info. We start our journey :moped: in 23 hours so this should be a fun new adventure. :woohoo:

Right :thumbsup2

You actually have to carry THREE things, b/c admission media is separate from room key at DLR. So you've got your ticket or AP, your room key, and your little slip of paper aka charge slip. Zoiks!

But for me, having 3 things works better, b/c I tend to lose things (*cough* lightsaber *cough*). For several years I had my house keys totally separate from my car keys, so if, er, WHEN, I lost them I was only losing one thing at a time.

Have a great time. :thumbsup2

Enjoy our quirky, little, "old school park". (& remember....the castle is really, really small :))......but:

- you're gonna love no humidity in the summer. :cool1:

- no stinkin' buses. :hippie:

- arrive early & (collect FPs for later) & you'll get alot more done.

- Park Hop 50 yards (to DCA) when DL gets crowded (every day).

- Walk a few steps & you're in DTD.

- say hi to Toadie for me. :hyper: ....&....

- .....have a great time at Walt's Park. :thumbsup2

I agree! After just coming back from a short WDW trip I am thankful for all of the assets listed above! The humidity last weekend was awful and taking buses everywhere takes so much time! :(
I came home with a better appreciation for DL! :)
Although of course I still had a blast at WDW and can't wait to go back in a couple of years! ;)

Omg this is what I was thinking my sister loses everything!!:rotfl2: I'm gonna get the slip of paper so it won't end up lost.:rolleyes1

only 1 charge slip per room?

I tend to slip away for some shopping while family does their thing in the parks...rather inconvenient to only have one when the party may need it in different venues let alone parks:confused3

guess we'll just have to remember to carry some cash

they might give you more than one charge slip . . . . each adult? I don't know but it's worth a try.

Don't forget , your Disney Visa works as well and you will be earning credits to go back again. :)

DH & I always get our own charge slips.
i will def ask

i hesitate to use my 'actual' Disney CC in the parks where there is chance it will go out of my sight:rolleyes1 ; i've had 2 issues since 2005 wherein using it @ restaurants in DTD @ WDW has resulted in fraud/unauthorized charges within a day or so:confused3 many others have had the same experience @ WDW:worried:

not to open a can of worms here:duck: and i certainly don't have any personal experience of the sort @ DL, just my personal phobia
