On January 5 DLR is doing away with Early Entry. Each on-site guest will instead receive one Lightning Lane MultiPass. Clarifying here -- this is a lightning lane for ONE ride that is on the Multipass options. It is not LLMP for the day.

This is a huge bummer I loved early entry at both DCA and DL.......

ETA: My assumption is they hope this will drive LLMP sales.

I haven't been to DLR in a few years, how do they compare? I believe with the huge attraction roster between the two parks one can get quite a few attractions with LLMP. It's similar to what Universal does for the legacy deluxe resorts.
I don't think they could do that at WDW, too many onsite guests.

They aren't giving away LLMP for the day. They are allowing you to get one Lightning Lane for a ride that is on Multipass with the (my) assumption it is booked once you enter the park.

I'm glad we just came back — that's a huge change. People say it's only 30 minutes, but we got so much done in that time, and it let us get into the park before the masses stormed the castle. One LLMP is ok (at least it’s something), but we managed to ride multiple attractions over multiple days in just those 30 minutes.

Early Entry at the Disneyland Resort

LocatedinDisneyland Resort
Prior to January 5, 2026: Guests who are checked in and staying at one of the Disneyland Resort hotels can take advantage of 30-minute early entry to a designated theme park every day of their hotel stay to enjoy select attractions, dining and shopping locations.

Each day, either Disneyland Park or Disney California Adventure Park will open early:

  • Disneyland Park: Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday
  • Disney California Adventure Park: Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday
Please check the theme park calendar for park opening times.

Starting January 5, 2026: Guests who are checked in and staying at one of the Disneyland Resort hotels can instead take advantage of one Lightning Lane entry to a Lightning Lane Multi Pass attraction during their Resort stay.

Valid theme park admission and a park reservation for the same park on the same date are also required for Guests (ages 3+). Park reservations are limited, subject to availability and not guaranteed. Lightning Lane Multi Pass entry benefit for hotel guests is subject to attraction availability and restrictions, including the Lightning Lane Multi Pass terms and conditions.

Agreed. You could almost knock out all of fantasyland if you tried and at DCA we would always do Guardians and Webslingers. This is a total downgrade and may shorten the length of our stays. I love early entry rope drop, but I hate regular rope drop. This is just a money grab -- having to pay people 30 less minutes to be there.

I guess you could do a multi-day split day for your entire stay and get one for every day. If you could stop them from merging them :)
I might pay for Premiere pass before I packed my bags every day. Joking I would never pay for PP but Id stand in line instead of moving rooms which Im sure they would make me do rather than leaving me in one room

And the hits keep coming
They also literally just updated that entrance. So now Pixar Place and Grand Cal guests get to use the same DCA entrance. It's like they don't want people to stay at their resorts anymore?

This is me completely overreacting, but in 2 years we are planning on celebrating my 50th at DLR. I had planned on doing a 10 day stay and just enjoying Disneyland, but the change with early entry really is a huge change and it will 100% change how we do and enjoy the parks. I'll now probably split Disneyland with something somewhere else.....

Maybe wasting money on updating something that will get removed soon after is part of their money problems if money is why they are removing it. Boggles the mind!

Im wondering if its just temporary and has something to do with the Disneyland forward project?
