Early Entry & Crowds in Oct.

I have to young ones so I would like to go when the crowds are low.
I know most of the hotels are booked in Oct. when we are going (My Mom has been trying to get an additional room with not much luck!!).

Does that mean I should take advantage of EE or go to a different park at opening thinking everyone else will going for the EE???

It has been our experience that EE makes that park almost unbearable. If you can be there right when EE starts, then go to EE for EE only. Then plan on leaving and going to a different park. That has worked for us. My oldest DD and DH head over to EE to ride the rides that the younger kids don't like or are too small for, then they meet the rest of us a different park.

For us we use EE since DD is up early anyway. We really love EE at MK. We are able to do all the Fantasyland rides with hardly a wait and are well into Tomorrowland rides when the regular crowd catches up. We went last year first week in Nov. and also first week in Feb. and for us EE worked great. I expect to use it for the end of October too.

I was wondering the same thing. I know Disney property hotels are fairly booked for October so I'm guessing most people will take advantage of the EE mornings. But hopefully it will be bearable for MK since that is the main park we'd like to do early. It doesn't seem worth it for MGM since only one ride is open for the young ones. We will definitely be there right when the park opens.

Does anyone know when the first buses leave the resorts for the parks?

You can easily walk on many attractions in the parks in Oct. The mornings tend to be the busiest, but in the afternoons except for a few exceptions you will probably walk right on. The weekends tend to be busier as the locals make their short trips. But overall I think you are going to love going in Oct.
