With the announcement that DVC members can enter the MNSSHP at 2 pm, it seems like a good time to ask…..what is the main reason you go to the Halloween party? Is it to be in the park while crowds are low, to trick or treat, to visit special characters or some other reason?

We did the Halloween party and Christmas party once and loved them both. My daughter would spend the whole night in line to meet characters so having more time is GREAT to me!

Some people seem to have very specific touring plans for these parties. We kind of just "roll with the flow"....how about you? Do you have any tips to offer?

I am brand spankin’ new DVC owner so excuse the dumb question: this is only available to direct from Disney purchases, is that correct?

Only for the people eligible for the benefits. Basically, you have to have a Blue Card. I read that someone actually called and asked.

Follow up question - does being able to enter at 2pm really make any difference? I'm assuming if you are an AP holder you could enter at 2 also, whether or not you even have tickets for MNSSHP, since doesn't the party start at 6pm (or the park closes to anyone without a ticket at 6pm)? Or are there already going to be Halloween Party type events starting before 6?

It only matters to those DVC members and guests of members without AP’s. In theory, my friends who are coming with us could get in earlier, but since we all land at MCO at 1:20pm on the day we’re going to the party, the 2pm entry won’t help them either unless they can teleport to the park! Haha.

If you have AP's then yes, it's really not a 'perk' but we don't have AP's (we are in BC) and only have party tickets this time around so it's actually a perk for us, being able to enter the park 4 hours earlier.

It matters to us. We have an upcoming 9 Nights stay with only MNSHHP tickets so an extra 2 hours in the park makes a big difference, much better value for the price we paid for tickets.

We do not have APs and rarely purchase park tickets. However, for the upcoming trip we did purchase the MNNSHP tickets for one reason: to be in the park while crowds are low. We do not care for the candy or the characters and will not dress in costume.

I love the Halloween parade and dressing up in costume. My family is all about the rides so we don't do characters or trick or treating.
