Early entry and universl express

Okay, I've been reading both this site and Universal's. Right now we're going in early Dec and getting 2 day tickets for USF. Do we get early entry with these or any other tickets? We're not staying onsite. From what I've read express seems like fastpass. If I read it correctly the 2 day pass can get 3 express passes at a time? Universal's site wasn't very helpful. Any info you can give would be most helpful to clarify all this.

Only on-site guests receive early entry (can't remember what days for which parks though).
With multi-day tics you can hold 3 Express passes at one time. A single day tic allows 1 Ex. pass at a time.

Early entry days are:

USF: Sunday and Thursday
IOA: Monday and Wednesday
