Early entrance

we are visiting SoCal from NH and will be at DL Wed through Fri. We are visiting with friends who live here. We have 3 day park hoppers which will allow us one early entrance. They have So Cal Select annual passes which they haven't used yet. Anyone know what the early entrance rules are for them?

Unless they are staying at a Disney hotel, they will have no access to early entry.
