I DID IT! I got the picture thingymajigger to work! Yay, thanks EPH94!

I was about to run out and TRYYYY to find a bra for my dress (not an easy feat w/ my size ****s) No way could i do a strapless so i'm going to go to fredericks of hollywood and look for the straps that are see through.
I just wanted to post real quick (not much time) and give you all a heads up on dresses....Annie Sez has really nice dresses in all sizes formal or alittle less than formal. Not many ppl have them in their area (staten island only has 1) but I got lucky many many times there when i wasnt able to find anything anywhere else and was VERY happy. I wish you all luck finding the perfect dress that looks beautiful on you :wizard:

Congrats on getting your docs, lucky duck!

Kohl's is weird. They don't really have a "dress department". They have some slinky wrap dresses in the Daisy Fuentes department, then they have dresses for teens in the Candies department. I found my dress near the Career department where all the collared work shirts and blouses/skirts are. It's only one rack and they come in black and peach. Trust me, I did about 27 laps in Kohl's until I realized the dresses were sprinkled around the store!

You can also try Mervyn's, they have a small selection, JC Penney has a great selection! Sears and other places had dresses for Prom but of course those were waaaaaay too formal. Good luck!

Is Disney handling your ground transportation for you? If not, it would not really matter if you got your docs or not, they will have you in the system at the port. So don't stress! If so then you would need your luggage tags.

As an FYI for your future cruises, (am I to optimistic?) our TA asked us where we wanted our documents to come. So if you ask your TA to have them sent directly to you they should.

All of ours were supposed to go to one address and would you believe they sent 1 out of 6 packages to a different address? The one they sent was for the 5 year old, and they sent her parents and sisters to the address we had specified. We couldn't figure that one out but we are glad they are here.

Hi all,

I've been looking for this thread for ages! it will just be me and DH travelling on this cruise, but I can't wait. I will probably now take up till we go catching up!

Welcome! We are planning to meet on Deck 10 at 5 and some will have lime green leis or bracelets. Stop by and meet everyone! Happy cruising!:)

As for the question about where I got my bonine. I purchased the children's version "Bonine for children" at Publix. It's supposed to be the less drowsy formula. I don't know how far the Publix grocery chain goes, but you can probably find it at any pharmacy. Of course I could not find it at a Target or walmmart, but I did find it at a grocery store. In any case I got a couple of bottles just in case. I have a feeling my husband is going to need it. He's the father that passes out during the epidural phase of giving birth, he's got such a weak stomach.

Haven't made my sign yet. Are the doors magnetic? Or can I use double sided tape? Or will that harm the door finish?

Great to see you on board.

There are a few childless couples that are on this thread. But you know, the rest of us with children.....well that's what the clubs are for and you know duct tape works really well.:rotfl:

It will be great to get a chance to have drinks and have adult conversation too.

Looking forward to meeting you all.

I read that the doors are metal. I bought my magnetic paper through Staples. Since then I saw some at WalMart at a cheaper price.

For pirate night you will see myself and my DD dressed up. As for my DH and DS I have left them up to their own devices. I offered to get them some outfits and they said no. :confused3 Maybe they don't trust me.

Or even better, you plan on spending the bulk of your cruise locked away in the safety of the adults-only area and you need a drinking partner.....

You'll find plenty of likeminded folks in the Quiet Cove pool area. I've never been much of a Disney person, either. How about this... I spent a weeklong vacation in Orlando once and NEVER saw Disney World. In fact, I've still never been.

Just make sure you're not in the whirlpool when it's time for the Men vs. Women Adult Pool Games activity or you WILL get roped into "volunteering" (I speak from experience). I went from having a relaxing soak with a Guinness in hand to performing a 90-second "syncronized swim" routine with 4 other guys wearing pink wigs and pink miniskirts. Yes, the organizers will do whatever they can to humiliate the participants-the men in particular. If you are forced into the game, I highly recommend throwing at least one of the organizers in the pool afterwards. It's a liberating experience before getting back to your drink (again, I speak from experience).

It is with great trepidation that me and my dw (hey, I know the lingo!) are going on our first Disney Cruise within 2 weeks. We'll be going with her family, and while they all have drunk deeply from the Disney kool-aid, I am slightly Disney-jaded.
.....

Poor guy, your in-laws sound like real Disney ****s! Tee hee, I won't tell you dear mom in law your dark jaded secret. I will however expect my dbil to spend a good number of evenings drinking with his loopy looney Disney loving Sister in law

In response to the question "who's dreswsing up fpr pirates night...I will be dressed and so will Erik and my girls. I figure what the hell, I never wear a costume and it will make my girls (6&7) very happy i'm sure.
I gotta find out about that Bonine stuff. I never even heard of it. Only pharmacy type places here are cvs, duane reade, rite aide and walgreens...bet I have a hard time finding it:headache:

i NEVER HEARD A REPLY FROM A PREVIOUS QUESTION i ASKED FEW PAGES BACK. opps cap lock sorry....
Q....Can I ship a package full of kids stuff (basket: w/ shovels, coloring books cards, autograph books, perhaps small disney dools) you get the picture...kinda like a easter basket but a cruise basket? If so, how do you send?? Thanks folks.

Makingmemories,

You can always come by room 7544 and borrow my bonine. I am sure I will have plenty!

I heard of someone sending out a box ahead of them, but I just can't remember where I read about it other than in someone's TR. Seems like I read it in Passporter or another website how to's. Sorry!

I am sending a box down this week. I am shipping some sand toys for the kids, some big cups(that I don't want to bring home), maybe some room decorations, that kind of stuff.

The address is found under FAQ section.

Mormadsmom,

Awwww thank you so much for the offer. HOPEFULLY none of us will need this type (or any other) of medication:sick:
I thought I read about some people sending out packages before hand also...hmmmm, I gotta pay better attention. Thanks for the help :hippie: Linda

I can't believe I will be leaving in nine days. Thanks to Mom (J&C's Grandmom) for making our costumes. I can't wait to see my DH in a costume :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

I blame this on the fact that I grew up a short drive from Disney World and every time we'd have a visitor from out-of-state, we'd go there - sometimes three or four times a year. I keep my cynicism a closely guarded secret, as I would never want to damper my in-law's enthusiasm.

Surely, there must be someone reading these boards who is childless, and is feeling the same apprehension that I am. Or perhaps you once were much like me, and this is your 17th Disney Cruise and you've named your children after Disney characters and you can tell me how I'll be won over by the experience. Or even better, you plan on spending the bulk of your cruise locked away in the safety of the adults-only area and you need a drinking partner.....

To walt's_freezer - I feel your pain. My DH is not a Disney-freak like me and my family. The poor man just married into the wrong family. He has gotten used to our frequent trips to FL and WDW. Cruising is easier to talk him into since the Disney effect is more subtle and the vacation is more relaxing than running around the park all day.

We will be putting in the DD (4.5) in the club and the DS (2) in Flounders one afternoon so we can go to the adult pool. I have not swam in the adult pool since our first cruise in 2002. Hot tub and fruity-drink here I come......

Hi Mormadsmom,

I'll look for Bonine at CVS I suppose - never have heard of Publix.

I made door signs this last weekend. I'll post a photo on here later tonight. You can buy magnet paper at Target. I bought mine for $6 on Ebay. All I had to do was tell my printer that it was glossy paper and it printed fantastically. I also got sticky-paper from my mom, but I didn't want it to leave residue on their doors.

DH and I are dressing up for Pirate Night! Using our Halloween costumes from Party City. Arrrrrrr! pirate:

I found my Bonine at Walmart. Tucked way way in the corner. :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

My friend just returned from the Western cruise and he loved it. He's a hard drinking, crochety young geezer who steers clear of anything under 4':scared1: :scared1: :scared1: Came home lovin it!!! I think the beer package helped.:dancer:

This cruise was supposed to be an adults only trip for us based on his recommendation...but change of plans. I'll now have my two nieces - which will just be a differnt kind of fun. princess: princess:

Likely around cocktail hour I'll be seeking out those quiet adult corners :cloud9: for some poolside drinks and grown-up talk. :dance3:

I believe I saw Bonine for kids in CVS.

Hi Everyone,

Just wanted to say Hi and introduce my family! We were supposed to be on the March 17th Eastern, but my father passed away on the 18th after being at home in hospice. We knew a couple of weeks early that we needed to reschedule and here we are on the April 28th sailing! It has been crazy since the funeral - so I have not really had a chance to get back into planning or DIS mode. I have not read all 42 pages yet - but I have been trying to catch up and am so excited to meet you all.

I am Maureen (single), and I am travelling with my sisters kids - my almost 10 year old (July), 4th grade nephew, Brendan and my 8 year old, 2nd grade niece, Katie. We are from St. Louis, although my sister's family will be moving to San Antonio this summer.

We are in a Cat 5 - 7568 and are on late seating (although waitlisted and desperate for early seating - you don't want to see my niece when she is tired or hungry - let alone both!!)

We are flying from St. Louis on Friday and staying at the Residence Inn. After the cruise we are spending a couple more days at the Grand Floridian.

Brendan and Katie had some great email pen pals on the March cruise and are anxious to meet some new friends on this one. If anyone has kids similar ages, please introduce yourselves and /or PM me and we can get the kids together. I would love to be included in the Meet on Deck 10. Can anyone fill me in on the details? Is there any other info you need from us?

We are planning a beach day at Le Galion Beach on St. Maarten (French side). We are doing a daysail on the Winifred when we get to St. Thomas, and we are planning to do the Stingrays on CC (darn shame about the parasailing - we really wanted to do that!)

Looking forward to meeting up with everyone...I am diligently reading through all the pages and am heading out to get our green leis this weekend. Any info I can get about our group ahead of time is much appreciated. Gotta love the DIS!!
