I am not sure what time early dining is...6 or 6:30 but if the late starts at 8:30 what time are you out of the dining room? Do the waiters hurry you up?

We had late dining in May and loved it....our TA convinced me to pick early for our 12/05 cruise as we will have a 3 yr old and an almost 1 yr old cruising as well.......

I think it would be easier to switch from early to late than late to early....

Lillygator, early dining is at 6:00 and late at 8:30. We had late dining and were usually finished about 10:15 or so which is about one hour 45 minutes and we definitely didn't hurry so I don't think you would be "rushed" if you had early dining. BUT I can't speak to that from experience. Maybe someone else could post with their experience.

I had early seating on my last cruise and we were definitely done in plenty of time. We were never rushed...not once. So far I am stuck with late dining on my next cruise and really not too happy about it but early is booked....oh well...:)

I never felt rushed with early dining but I did feel it was easier for us to rush,ie to get the kids to the club or to make an activity. The late dining just seemed at a slwer pace to me but it may have just been different on a different cruise. You will definitely be given all the time you need.We found with our 1 year old it was easiest to feed him ahead of time and just let him munch on finger foods at our late seating. This was he was occupied and we weren't trying to eat and feed him at the same time. We alo bought his cars to the table so he enjoyed rolling them into all of our plates.Good thing we had our own table;)

That is correct, we ALWAYS have early dinner (except once), and it's never been a problem, we are always out by 7:45, and we don't rush (i'm actualy a slow eater) we have time to change and 'get in line' to wait for the shows...

We have had late seating on both cruises and are going to be in early seating for next cruise. We have dd10 & ds 6 and found that we missed the late night stuff because dinner was so long and the kids were stuffed from dinner and sleepy. If dh & I were traveling alone, we would keep the late seating.

Guess it depends on your preference.

that was sort of my thinking....by the time we got out of late dining it seemed as though most activities had already started.

I guess it can't hurt to try it....I think I would rather try it on a 3 night instead of a 7 night in case I didn't like it....oh well, it will be fine.

We had late seating our first trip when my dd was 5......

Needless to say we've picked early for all three cruises since then.

Late seating might work out for you while your children are still so little.....

But at the time my daughter was into the clubs and wanted to eat with them.....(the clubs however, go eat during the same time as the first shows) We didn't want her to miss the shows...

With late seating, she never did make it through one meal...

(She fell asleep at the table every night) :snooty:

I've seen many people swap mealtimes once on board. The last cruise our tablemates changed each night.
(Wasn't our fault. long story.)
