I’m looking at at early December solo trip staying at either Pop or CBR most likely since I will need to be using a scooter still. My biggest concern with Pop is how can I check if there might be any sports, cheer or school groups around that time? It would be the first week of December. I’ve never been able to visit during the holiday season so I’m really wanting to cross that off my list. I’m open to other suggestions within reason.

You're never going to be able to go when there are literally NO sports, cheer or school groups there. And, all it takes is one junior high co-ed group (choir, band, drama, etc.) with a block of 10 rooms (a rather small group, of which I'd imagine there are several at any given time) near yours with "lax" chaperones to overwhelm you and ruin your trip.

Your real goal is just to try to minimize the number of them and their impact on your trip. And, I would think there is a high likelihood of doing so the first week in December. For many schools, it's too close to winter break to pull the kids out of school on an official school function. But, it's also an ideal time to go in terms of weather and cost, so private groups might favor this time. It's really a crap shoot as far as "who" will be there at the same time as you.

You can also certainly request to stay in a different part of the resort from them. Disney is usually very good about honoring that as long as they have the ability to do so. And, in the first week of December (as opposed to, say, the middle of March), they are likely going to have the flexibility to move people around as needed.

So: first week in December, contact Guest Services about 30 days out and let them know you don't want your room to be near any groups, and, other than dumb, bad luck, you most likely will be fine.

I hope you enjoy your holiday season trip!!
