We are planning our trip for the first week of December. I know one year they had all kinds of cheerleaders from all over the place meeting there at the beginning of December. Is that a yearly thing? I'm not wanting to go during that time. Does anyone know what I'm talking about?? :confused3

Yep, Pop Warner and I think they have a contract with Disney to hold their annual event there for a few more years.

We are going that same week. I have never been there during that time but I've read that as long as you aren't staying at a value hotel (particular AS Sports) you shouldn't be too impacted. I'm hoping that's true.

My son is playing in a baseball tournament there (Wide World of Sports) in April and I know in their case, they will have absolutely no time to even hit the parks. It's all games and practice, games and practice. Again, hoping that's the case here, as the football players and cheerleaders are going down primarily to compete.

We have been there several times. The kids re normally in the parks after dinner. This time of year used to be very light crowds. The last two years it has gotten more popular and crowded. I would say it is still a great time to go and see all the decorations. It is worth at least one trip.

We are going that first week as well. My daughter is 5 and in a cheer dance class. I think she would love to see all the cheerleaders walking around. I'm sure that they will not be in their uniforms in the parks, but maybe downtown disney or the like.

Are you talking about this year? If you don't already have a reservation, it's going to be hard getting one.

I've gone that week many times and stayed at BWV and it wasn't an issue. Saw small groups around the parks, not a big deal.

For this year the only resort with availability for a studio or 1 bedroom is SSR, and those rooms are limited. I tried to add a couple of days to our reservation yesterday.

I was worried about the same thing. My co worker is a huge disney fan.He told me they r there until December 10. That they usually stay at the value resorts. We are planning to go the same time and have decided to stay at a moderate resort and are having no problems getting reservations.I guess the value resortso at that time can be very loud..

We went during Pop Warner week 2 years ago, and stayed at AKV. We barely saw any of the kids the week we were there, and had no problems.

We go this time every year, and the Pop Warner kids are noticeable but not an issue at all for DVC resorts. LOVE doing WDW in early December! This year we are at AKV from 12/6-12/14!
