Early December Booking Dilemma

Dates: December 1 - December 5
Desired Resort: POFQ (or POR)
Available Resorts: Coronado Springs, Beach Club, Boardwalk
Flexibility of Dates: little to none, we could go the the following weekend, maybe, possible, with a lot of maneuvering.
Party: Two, I'm taking my adult niece and favorite travel buddy on a pre-wedding trip. We usually hit the Christmas Party and stay at PO.

Dilemma: No desire to stay at CSR. Do I rent points (pretty reasonable) for WLV or OKW or book CSR and hope hope hope that PO will open up? I would take POP over CSR. May sincerest apologies to all CSR fans. Just, not my thing. Especially at Christmas.
Yes, I know the Christmas Party may not happen, at least not in its traditional form.

Thanks.

Woowwww!!! There is hardly nothing available during that time frame. I am shocked at availability. You probably won't find points to rent, but you can try. Good luck.

I have found points. I've delayed pulling the plug based on the practical reason of waiting for SW to release their schedule on Thursday as I really need an evening direct flight down and my horrible wishful thinking of wanting POR, but based on the complete lack of availability at Values that would allow me to upgrade, I may have to as long as I can secure a decent flight.

I agree with you on hoping POR opens back up! I am hoping they will make an announcement this fall...of those options if you cannot get your 1st choice, I would go with WLV. I think WL looks awesome at Christmas time...

You found someone with points to rent? Or did you actually find someone with a confirmed reservation at one of those DVC resorts? There's a big difference. Just because someone has points available, it doesn't mean that they can book either of those resorts for you. Early December is extremely popular with DVC members and I doubt that anything is available. You would need to rent a confirmed reservation at this point.

BTW, there are 2 DVC resorts on the Wilderness Lodge property: Copper Creek Villas and Boulder Ridge Villas. There hasn't been a WLV since CCV opened. If you're lucky enough to snag a reservation at either one, make sure that you know which one you're getting.

I'm going from the 30th to the 8th, and there has been almost nothing available. Right now I have CSR reserved (which I have no issues with, I like the resort) and also a room at Swan.

I really want to stay at Animal Kingdom Lodge, but the hotel portion has no opening date yet. My second choice is POFQ -- never stayed there, but we were supposed to when the pandemic cancelled our trip in 2020.

Not sure which I'm keeping if more resorts don't open up.

I don’t see any availability for DVC for those dates so I’d book CSR and hope they announce more resorts reopening to rebook. If you have access to a reservation at Copper Creek (Wilderness Lodge) for a reasonable rate I would absolutely jump on that ahead of almost any other resort especially at Christmas time.

WLV is my home resort so I would say rent points there, especially if the cost is similar or at least affordable.

I have heard that WL is amazing at Christmas, so that would be my vote, if you're able to rent points.

Finding DVC villas with availability for those dates might be a long shot. That is a pretty popular time for DVC members and they are getting back to booking right at 11 and seven months out.

We are going with CSR and HOPING HOPING HOPING that PO will open up. Either side, we aren't (that) picky! It's tradition.

We rented OKW points for a 1 bedroom back in January for the first week of December...so glad we did because there's no OKW available now for our week. We wanted Poly or GF but nothing even to book back in January....we also booked one night at CC WL on the Disney site before our OKW stay....

I’m going the 28th to the 4th and I had a hard time getting CCV. Right now I have 3 nights booked 1st to the 4th. Nothing else available for the rest of the week except 1 night the 30th. So I have two reservations for CCV because availability was so hard to find. Hopefully if I call they will link it together. I guess we will go to another resort the 28th to the 30th.
