Do I really need to book day by day for early December? I want a 1BR and 2BR standard at BWV. I am dreading calling everyday and I hate annoying ms!
Let me know about your experiences please!
Thanks

Hi,

I am interested in this too. I want a 1 bedroom HC/non smoking for 12-12 to 12-16. I would like to book it all @ 1 time as well. Any thoughts??

Last June I was able to book a 1 bedroom at VWL for Dec. 19 -
Dec. 22nd. no problem. VWL is my home resort too I just didn't
decide to go in December till then. I also just book last week BCV for July 3 - July 9 in a 1 bedroom. Again a home resort just had to make up my mind. Good Luck.:bounce: :bounce:

For BWV standard view, member services suggests day by day for early December. I booked it that way the past 2 years after asking them what they thought. It's not that big of a deal. The first day they collect all the info, so it takes a little time (same as any other reservation), but after that you just say you want to add a night and you are off in less than a minute (once they answer). Tell them what you are doing the first day, give them your actual checkout day and when you call the rest of the days, they know what you want as soon as they pull up your account. They were very nice about it. You could wait until the last day, but you are taking a chance that some of your earlier nights will not be available. Dec 1 to 14 is very popular because of it being adventure season and there are not that many standard view rooms. I'll be doing the day by day starting Jan 5!

DebbieB gave you very good advice.

Don't worry about "annoying ms". I have booked BWV standard view rooms (various sizes) day by day for this time period for the last 4 years and plan to do so again for our 2004 stay. MS has always been gracious and never even HINTED that I was annoying or calling too frequently. It is necessary to call day by day for this time period if you want to be sure of getting the standard view rooms. One day I didn't remember to call MS until approximately 1 p.m. EST. I got the very last standard view 2 bedroom (CM told me) and I felt very, very lucky and very, very, very relieved, LOL!

Some will say that the waitlist will work and it is true that you would have a good chance if you get on it 10 -11 months ahead of arrival. However, we have to book airfare quite a while ahead of time to get a decent fare out of MSP and I personally cannot stand the stress of wondering if/when the waitlist will come through. For me, the "stress" of calling day by day is infinitely preferable to the stress of having to use the waitlist. You decide for yourself, LOL! Just know that day by day for standard views at BWV is necessary.

All that said, now that members can get a guaranteed Boardwalk view, calling day by day for standard views may not be as necessary as it was in the recent past. We won't know for sure until after the 11 month window passes, and I am not willing to take a chance. IMHO, the time between Thanksgiving and Christmas is the most difficult time to reserve at BWV. The only exception is NYE!

Good luck!

Hey when I was making my Thanksgiving reservations last week - MS still have several standard views left - the CM I talked too was as surprised as me - she says they are generally gone fast......

someone else thought it might be the new BW view request - you know - now when you request BW view it is guaranteed - and alot of folks would love a BW view - even enough to give up their standard view -

I don't have enough points for it.....

I am going to forgo my standard view for next December and try for Boardwalk view. My first trip at BWV I had requested a BW view at 11 months and got quiet pool. The next 3 years I did standard. I did have to drop Saturday night from my May OKW ressie (may pay cash) that freed up 48 points. The difference for 6 nights in a 1 bedroom is 155 vs 121.

I wouldn't worry too much about annoying MS either. Remember, they are there to help us out. I called down day by day at 11 mos for my BCV reservations for this past December. I certainly did not want to take the chance of losing my preferred dates.

Being that BWV is a much larger resort than BCV, you probably won't have a problem, but if you want to make sure, by all means go ahead and do the day by day calling. It really isn't that bad, and I have had no problems with MS handling it this way.
