Early Crystal Palace PS?

I just made a PS for the Crystal Palace at 8 am (before the park opens that day). However, as this is my first visit to WDW (we're staying at OKW), and I'm a little confused as to what the CM told me was the operating procedure.

He said that I don't check in at CP, I need to check in at the ticket and transportation center first. When I asked him how do you get to the TTC, he replied you take a bus to MK and then the monorail to TTC. He then suggested I take the monorail back to MK, and go to CP, but I had to be at CP at 7:55.

To anyone who has had a reservation before the park opened, is this SOP? Do you have to go to the TTC before the park? Is it far from the entrance to MK? How do you get there? Can you catch a bus from the hotels directly to TTC? Does the MK bus stop at TTC first? Are we better off driving and parking at TTC and then taking the monorail? How long should we factor in for getting from TTC to the CP in order to reach our PS on time?

Are we crazy to make a PS for 8 am?

I have the same question. I have a ps for CP at 8:05 and I was going to take the bus from POP

Just go to the MK. There will be a check-in podium for those with PS prior to park opening. They may ask for your PS #, so have it with you. They will let your party in the park at 8:00 to go to the restaurant.

We had an 8:10 for Crystal Palace a few weeks ago, this is what happened to us:

We stayed on-site, got on a bus about 7:10 because I wanted to make SURE we didn't miss it! Got to MK and through security by 7:35, had to wait at the turnstiles until 8 am, then they let us in. If you're staying onsite, I would use a bus and not drive to MK, the parking lot is so darn far away, from what I could tell. The busses will drop you off at the gate (assuming you're not staying on the monorail, it drops you off at the gate as well tho). You don't have to check in at the TTC, but if you were driving, you'd probably have to give your PS info at the TTC would be my guess. Disney transportation starts running around 7 am, so you should have plenty of time.

You are NOT crazy for making his PS! We loved, loved, loved it! It was awesome to walk down Main St with hardly anyone there. The food was great, the characters were great, and when you're done, it's just about opening time!

Thanks for the answers. It seemed a little odd to require people to go to TTC and then back to the MK and still make it by 8. I'm glad we can go straight to MK to check in!

(now if only it was that easy to get my dh out of bed at 6:30 on vacation.........)

It depends on whether you have your own car or are using Disney Transportation. We have done both before.

If you are using Disney Transportation, just take the MK bus from your resort. It will deliver you directly to MK. You have to walk a bit to the front gate and there will be a CM checking off early PS names - they will allow you to go through the turnstiles before the park opens.

If you have a car, you will need to park at the Ticket and Transportation center (this is actually the parking lot for the Magic Kingdom it's just that you can't walk from the TTC to MK, you have to take the ferry or the monorial). They will have a similar procedure at the TTC. A CM will chcek off early PS names and will allow you to take the monorail over to MK. Once at the MK you will check in with the CM at the front gate and they will let you through the turnstile. Just give yourself some extra time if you are driving to the TTC.
