WOOHOO I just got an early christmas pressie. I now have 2 tags under my name. Thank you to the tag fairy.

Ok since I am newish here. I don't know what a tag is and how do you earn/get them??

A tag is the text written just under your user name.

By default, this will say something like "DIS Veteran", "Earning my Ears" or similar.

You can manually change this yourself - in this case it will say whatever you make it, but will still use the default blue colour.

But - there are a number of "tag fairies" who are able to change this text as well, but they can use their fairy dust to put pictures there, change the colours, make it move etc etc etc.

Tags are always taken from things you say in your posts and tend to be funny things you've said.

the tag fairies do not add tags at a specific date/time and do not take requests (though I believe they've been known to replace lost tags if you delete them by accident). It just happens at random.
