I am wondering I thought I read that there is a diffinate advantage to checking in as early as possible the day of your arrival and if so how early can you and what are the advantages we are arriving Sat night but not checking in till Sunday. If you check in early in the day can they hold your luguage and what time can you actually get into your rooms??

They will let you into your room as soon as it's ready. We got to the BWV's at about 8:45 A.M. after getting off a cruise in February and they gave us our room right away. It is the earliest we have ever checked in but have never had our room before 2:30 P.M. before this. They will hold your luggage until your room is ready. When you get into your room, you call Bell Service and they bring it up to you.

We were at OKW a week ago (checked in two weeks ago). We were driving down from NJ in our motorhome and were at the FL border early that Sunday morning. My wife called to find out how early we could possibly check in. She started to get the standard message of how we could check in and when our room was ready, etc. etc. When my wife explained we had the 35' motorhome and ... before she could even say another word, the person said "I understand, we do have rooms available right now, here's what we have, what would you like? When you arrive you'll be able to get right in and unload without the congestion." We were in our room at 11:30AM.

What I've learned, whether with check in or any other aspect, if you have good reasons, they will accommodate you as best they can under the circumstances.

I dont care when they let me in my room....i wear my bathing suit when i check-in. We leave our luggage at the desk, and hit the pool. We check back every hour, and enjoy some swimming and some drinks.....average time for check-in has been between 1 and 2

The time our villa has been ready has varied a lot from trip to trip. Our most recent trip in January it wasn't ready by 4 o'clock even! When they finally gave us our room numbers at 4:45 and we pulled up to our rooms at OKW the maids were just coming out. However, prior to that we arrived at the BCV at 8am and we were given a much needed room as our daughter had been with the flu bug since we hit WV the day before. What a great relief that was.

It really depends on when you get there and how booked DVC is.

In July 2002, we checked into BCV in the morning. In July 2003, we had to wait several hours to get into OKW. No problem however, we just hung out at the pool and the vacation was underway! :wave2:

When we checked in at OKW in January we arrived a 8 am. The room they had us in was in building 25 but it wasn't ready. But they had a room ready in building 44 so we took that one. Which was fine with us.
