Early Check-In?

Our flight gets in at 10:30 in the morning. Ideally, I would like to get to the resort, and probably take a short rest. Is it possible to get early check in?

It depends on the resort and if there is someone that is checking out of your particular room that morning. I have stayed onsite and once in a while, I was able to get into my room as early as 11am and sometimes not until after 2pm. It depends on how fast Mousekeeping makes up your room. Remember that check out isn't until 11am, then your room needs to be cleaned.

Why don't you check your bags at the hotel and relax by the pool if your room is not ready? That may be a good way to start your vacation off! :sunny: :sunny:

As long as the resort isn't full, yes. However, that means that you will possibly give up the room that the assignor gave you, if it hasn't been cleaned yet. If you had several requests on your ressy, you might not want to give up the room he set up for you. If you fly in at 10:30, you'll get to Disney about 11:15 - 11:30. Your room may very well be ready at that time anyway.

If you do get your room early, don't forget to have a couple bucks ready for the bellhop, who's brining your bags in (that may take a few minutes after you arrive).

In all of our trips to WDW we always arrive to the resort by 11am. Only once have we had to wait for our room. But we don't usually make many requests if any.

I arrived at CBR at 10:30 a.m. on a Sunday, Mother's Day, and our 2 connecting rooms were ready.

If you are flying in, are you using Disney's Magical Express? If you are you may have a better chance of having your room ready, if conditions are right. When you check in at the DME desk at the airport, the computer automatically notifies your resort's computer that you are on your way, and you will have a room set aside for you, if one is available. I've read from a Disney CM (Tyler) that this is one of the unheralded benefits of using DME. In other words, if there is only one room ready in the resort (that meets your specifications), and you used DME and the person in line in front of you to check in rented a car or used a car service, they will be told their room's not yet ready but you will get that room.

I don't think we'll be using ME, so we might not be able to check-in early, I guess. Of course we don't even have our flights yet, but I am hoping for early morning.

If we can't check-in, we'll either relax by the pool or head over to DTD to grab a bite to eat and do some window shopping.

We arrived on Aug7 at the BWI at 1:00, 3 hrs early(checkin at 4) -our room was ready.

You can always put down early check in as a request. They will take that into account when they are assigning rooms.
